How did you, or are you, going about telling guests about an RSVP Deadline? Does the deadline have anything to do with their final payment on their trip, or is it just for letting the bride and groom know if they ARE or NOT attending the wedding? My wedding website has a section dedicated for an RSVP already, should I make up a convenient DEADLINE and post it there?

Also, I've sent out about 40 STD's. Now whoever replies with a YES, those people will later recieve formal invitations, correct? Or am I now obligated to give formal invitaions to everybody that recieved an STD. I'm very confused with this. I thought if guests replied NO I WILL NOT ATTEND on the website than I would not have to count them in for formal invites....fryingpan.gifPLEASE HELP!!

Here is my experience. I did not have a RSVP deadline and never heard from some of my invitees. When it got to about two weeks to the payment deadline, I actually called these people to make sure they were not going.

I do not know what other brides have done that may have worked.

After the STDs, we only sent invitations to those who booked their trip. We are also sending some to our grandmas who can't come mostly for a keepsake.

I think the rule is there really are no rules. Just do what makes most sense for your situation and guests.

I also did not send a RSVP with our STD, as we plan on sending out formal invites to everyone regardless if they plan on coming. We do plan to include RSVP with the invites. Then as people book the trip or if we know they said they were coming we will send out updates/brochures.

I'm just sending out the formal invite about 9 months before the wedding and a reminder postcard about 60 day before the wedding. That I'm getting custom made at vista print with the picture of the resort with a quick note on the back. I know it's early for the formal invite but so many of my friends have asked me to give them all the information way in advance so I firgured this was the best way. Will see what happens

Let me tell you,

my RSVP deadline is TOMORROW and I have gotten FIVE RSVPS back out of 110.

What's interesting about that, is that 52 people have confirmed they are going. And still about 9 more say they may come.

FIVE RSVPs. Count them. How annoying! LOL.

But luckily by word of moutha nd people tlakign to my mother or myself, I knew who was coming and when they booked their tickets.

I am under the impression though, now that I"m a bride, that it's quite common for peopel to 'forget' to send those suckers back. Just goes with the territory, I suppose...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
