wow...this is my first time seeing this post but I would definitely change TA's!!! People email my travel agent all the time and are doing all of the booking through her and she just keeps me updated. She said that is her job and I dont need the added stress!

Hi Jenny,
You can either pay us and have your guest send checks to you personally or you can collect checks from your guests payable to Liberty. Which ever is easier for you, you will be the group leader and in charge of everything!!! Yahoo...Hopefully I will know more this afternoon!!!
Explains alot.

Although in her defense now, I'm sure that it is not HER doing...it's coming from her superiors. I would bet anyway....

I think you should be honest and tell her that you found a different TA. One that was willing to speak with your guests and handle any of their questions! She should know that this business is not acceptable....whether it is her or the travel agency doesn't make a bit of difference.

Show her the email you showed us and explain to her that the whole reason you are using a TA is to avoid being in charge of collecting money and such. Tell her how unhappy you are with the service. She will speak to your TA and work out better arrangements and monitor the situation more closely or she will switch you to another TA in the office. Liberty has their own group department and agents are often encouraged to pass group weddings to them. Therefore some agents don't get a lot of experience with groups and maybe she doesn't know what the heck she is doing. I even used a TA to book my wedding instead of doing it myself because I wanted to avoid collecting money from friends and family.
Right, I wanted to avoid having to handle my guests. And I didn't even want to give that responsibility to someone else (ex. my mom). It's too much work! I have already switched TA's and she's been great :)

Are you going to get her commission at the end for all the people purchasing trips with her? I think she should do her work and on top of that, thank you for all the money she just made from your wedding planning.

The nerve!

i'm going through liberty and my ta is amazing. she's memorized most of our guests' names and departure cities, sends me updates all the time and yells at me cause she still thinks i'm doing too much of her job by even thinking of the logistics. maybe i just got lucky with liberty muscle.gif

jenny- glad to hear you have a new ta!

Just seeing this thread for the first time. Glad you switched TA's because the other one was not doing her job.

I have a liberty travel TA and she's great. She tells me to tell guests to contact her and she'll answer all their questions. I guess some TA's are more hands on than others.

You definately made the right decision to switch, it's hard enough to plan a wedding but also helping guests book their vacation/trip is too much work.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
