Well, I'm no WC expert BUT I think this is completely rediculous. What's the point of her job then? To have YOU do all the work and then take her cut from it? Especially when she says it's because she doesn't want a million questions coming her way. WHAT? Who is supposed to have the answers then? I would be pissed! My WC has done EVERYTHING for us and I would have found someone else if it were any other way!

Jenny, I'm sorry you are going through this...I am going through something similar. I've heard from a few guests that she hasn't gotten back to them and she told my uncle to go online to book his flight - NOT ACCEPTABLE.

I wanted to have one person who had everyone's travel info, etc and I didn't want to go crazy trying to keep track of when people are coming and going.

I've since given up on that. I had her do what I needed her for the most, block off the rooms with the resort, and I have taken her contact info OFF my website. I'm now telling people to call me with any questions. So far, I've sat on the phone with 5 guests and booked their airfair with them (I did it for them using their CC) which I thought was the TA's job. I've started a spread sheet so I know who is coming in when adn who's sharing a room with who.

If I had found this site sooner, I would have went with a TA from here, unfortunately, I went with someone my mom recommended - although NOW my mom won't take the credit for that.

My TA gave me a info sheet to email out to potential guests and have them fill it out and fax it back to her and anyone with questions can contact her. I felt this was a great compromise because those just booking didn't need to have her on the phone tying up her time and those with questions she could get back to the same day to answer them. My TA is also booking another wedding at the same time and with my 35 and the other wedding with 50 guests that is alot of phone calls to answer. As of right now she is able to anwer everyone right away or get back to them within the hour.

I can understand not wanting to sit on the phone with a ton of people but what questions can I answer? I don't want to be the middle person and I certainly don't want to give this task to someone in our families.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
