22 day and P's haven't bought trip!

Recommended Posts

Okay so My parents have had since November to save for their trip to mexico. Things got bad at home with this stupid economy thing and the thought of loosing their house is on their minds.

I know this sounds so selfish of me but I mean come on! They had so long to save.. There are so many things they coudl have done to cut cost.. not smoking for one!!! ewwwww

My FI is so pissed! This is not to say that they will not come but i mean come on.. the hotel is booked on saturday which is two days after we get married.. I will be upset if they just fly in for the day ... ahh why... smile41.giffryingpan.gif

Sorry...I know we've said it a thousand times but it's such an eye opener, your wedding is never as important to everyone else as it is to you. We had friends move heaven and earth to go and some relatives barely tried and didn't go. And it doesn't help that the economy is bad so if your guests don't have a stash of money to pull from it makes it even more tough. I hope they make it there :)

I agree with Carly totally. A ton of our friends are going but FI's dad isnt going cuz he says cant afford it (even though just bought new mustang, new paint job for motorcycle, and more). I am so sorry you are going through this. Unfortunately it is all something you ultimately can not control so if they make it that is fabulous!! If they dont, that is very selfish of them but you still need to try your very best to enjoy your day with your FI!! I hope it all works out for you!!

I'm hearing that the economy hasn't been this bad since the depression. I'm not really experiencing anything, but it hits some harder than others. I'm a renter with a small car in a state that isn't really suffering. But, some people are facing forclosure.

I hope they can make it. I checked last minute prices for mine & it wasn't pretty. but, i've seen some awesome prices in july before. have you signed up for the travelzoo top 20? they might end up at a different hotel, but often there are packages for $400 for flight & 3 nights.

I am so sorry and really know what you are going through. My dad is having a really tough time right now and is not going either. At least I do not think he is going because he has never mentioned my wedding to me since we got engaged in November.

I am sending you good thoughts that they will surprise you and make it.

Are you having an AHR? Maybe you could do your father/daughter dance then?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
