Ok first I will say "no I'm NOT pregnant".. Just wanted to clear that up first. :-)

 

You all know I'm a dork when it comes to dogs, well our foster was adopted out yesterday and perfect timing I might add (BTW didn't shed a tear with that one, omg he was a ton of work) Our rescue group is pulling several Bostons from another Puppymill and were getting one of them. So you may be thinking "why so excited then" Well because IMO Puppymill dogs are the main reason why we volunteer, they are in such need of help and medical attention and just seeing them grow into a normal dog is just an awesome experience. Plus I have to admit, I still my Elsie every single day and I'm looking forward to that experience all over again. Well minus all the potty training :-).

 

All we know right now is that all the dogs are females and under the age of 5,(most puppy mills keep the females for breeding and sell the males) no idea yet when we will get them, it's usually treated as an emergency type thing, they pull them and need to transport them right away so it will be a very last minute thing. I guess the Boston are coming from the Cleveland area.

 

Anyway I'm very excited and can't wait to foster another Mill dog.

Tammy that is awesome!! Thank you so much!!! We are bulldog owners and we had purchased from what we thought was a reputable breeder, turns out he is a broker for a puppy miller in Iowa. We ended up going to Ohio to testify against him in front of the AKC and Bulldog CLub of AMerica after our baby girl (my username sake, Lucy) died at the age of two from cancer and had multiple eye and knee surgeries (all suspected to be issues from the puppy mill). We have seen undercover footage done by CAPS (companion animal protection society CAPS Investigation: Steve Kruse) from the puppy mills where are kids had been kept and, it made my stomach turn and still does. So thank you thank you thank you for your efforts against puppy mills!!! cheer2.gif

That is so wonderful that you take care of recovered mill pups. Once I get a house (right now I live in a condo) with a yard, I hope to begin fostering dogs as well. It is a lot of work and I give you props for giving your time to the pups! :)

We actually live in a townhome with no yard as well. We usually only have one foster at a time, so don't let that stop you from helping if you are interested. When it comes to off leash play time we take them to a dog park.

Wow, I remember the awful Lucy story but not the going to court part...good for you! I hope they threw the book at him!

That's great news Tammy. My sis volunteers for a boston rescue too and she loves it. She lives with my parents so she can't foster but when she moves out she is planning too. Right now she interviews potential adopters to see if they are right for the dogs and does home visits as well. She always tells me stories about puppy mill dogs and it's just awful. Keep up the good work!

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010.       Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations.
