If Baby Gwen is allowed to fly, in general - you, Paul and Baby Gwen sound like candidates to me!

However, it does look like they network with limo companies and other modes of transportation - look under Partners and Patrons.

Other similar charities:

Angel Flight West

Corporate Angel Network - Home

Christina - this is GREAT info!!!! Thanks so much grouphug.gif

Hmmm, If this charity is paired up with a limo service companies, I wonder if we offer them an advertising space on the forum if they would be more willing to donate their time?

Okay... I have a few ideas... may seem crazy but, here goes.

So, my family owns a class A RV. We've taken many, many, many cross country trips with this beast and my dad LOVES driving it. in fact the dork was just talking about how he wants to go out west. So... option A (obviously I haven't talked to my father yet... but he's always down for a good travel!). So, possibly we could drive out to California and pick you guys up and drive back home. Since we live in Wisconsin, MN isn't far at all. Obviously there is the cost of fuel right now, so you'd have to consider that, but I'd guess it'd be a lot cheaper than renting an RV! And since we'd make a vacation out of it, we'd need to know a little in advance so we can leave early and plan some stops on the way out to California! :)

Or, you guys could take the train part way and we could meet you any where along the route.

Option 2 via Trisha: We can drive our RV down to the Chicago train station and pick you guys up and take you home. I know it's not THAT long of a drive from Chicago to MN, but with a premie it might be.

So, sadly those are all the options I have. I'm really sorry you are in this prediciment... but hopefully it'll all work out.

PM me if any of these ideas are appealing to you.

UPDATE - FYI: I have talked with my parents and they are willing to do this! It'd still be expensive though sad.gif Around $2,500 just for gas!

I can't believe all the great ideas from the girls on here - I don't have any new ones to add - man I wish Sarah was around and not on vacation becuase I am sure she would have some wise suggestions...

If you need a place to stay my house is big enough for your family - I am in Southern California so not sure that would help but wanted you to know you are welcome here!

Wow Ann I just read this wholllllle thread! Wow? I personally agree to keep her on the ground. She is still young and it would be nice to have medical care available (on the ground) should you need it. Plus all the germs, etc. I think the RV option is the best if you can find a one way company? Good luck hunny! Hopefully little Gwen will be in her bassinet own very soon!!

Okay I spoke to James' friend. Unfortunately since his father retired he sold the plane as well. He said the cost of fuel was draining him financially. He has a friend who does have a plane but he said the whole premature baby thing makes him nervous and he would be scared to get sued. I'm so sorry, I tried selling this hardcore but sadly I'm not a very good lawyer.

Ann I know you really, really want to get home ASAP and I don't blame you but do you think maybe you should wait a little bit? Wait for Gwen to grow and get stronger and then you would be able to fly home quickly and comfortably.

I only ask b/c based on what everyone is saying it seems like just gas alone could cost you $2,500 for an RV. And if you had to rent one that would cost even more. I would hate for you to have to spend all that money. Although, I can imagine living in a hotel is not cheap either. But are you sure there is no way you can just wait a little longer?

I know your a very patient person but something tells me being in an RV in the scorching hot summer with a new baby for days is going to start to get to you. Sorry to sound pessimistic you know I support you 100% whatever you decide to do, I'm just trying to figure out what would be easiest and most comfortable for you.

OMG that is so generous of you and your dad! I bet it would be total fun for your dad too, dads are dorks about their equipment but in a good way :) The gas is pricey but it beats the alternative costs...and a class A RV sounds sweet!

Ann, how's that for a beacon of hope? You guys are great!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
