I am dreading having to leave work today. We don't have AC at home and its about 97 degrees out and humid as fuck.
I LOVE Ron Burgandy!!!!!!! Milk was a bad choice!

This is the one time during the summer that I'm happy to live in an "oven". It may be over 100*, but the humidity is a measly 7%.

most schools up here closed early today ...mine has a/c so we were open all day, but i just got a recorded call from the superintendent that both schools in the district (i know, tiny district) will close at 1:30 tomorrow...which would normally be great but tomorrow is the 4th grade pool party, and we (the 4th grade teachers) need to make an appearance at 4.

It was 100 degrees still at 5pm today. Has since cooled off. I LOVE hot weather, but this is even too hot for me. Oh and I work at a restaurant and the ac went out and so did the exhaust fans for the ovens we had to stop taking orders. The whole place was filled with smoke from cooking and it was hotter inside than outside! I got sent home at 7. My eyes still hurt from the smoke. Apparently the hot weather and all the power being used made some electrical thing blow up in the street. All the businesses in the area were having the same problem. smile27.gif

MY AC JUST CAUGHT UP!!! I know I am a little late with the post but I started my day running a few errands and then spent the "hottest" part of the day painting my basement. I think this is the first time all day I have been comfortable! (Can we get a smiley that is sweating... I am sure it will be appropriate at other times than this)

Now where I used to live in FAR north Cali...that was some lovely dry heat! Almost no humidity whatsoever. It might be 105 for a month straight, but that was it. Here in Dallas it's like being in a steam room! YUCK! One of my friends from CA came to visit last year and she felt like she could barely breathe 'cause the humidity makes the air feel so heavy. It's a shock if you're not used to it.

We've got upper 90's + thunderstorms today....ick! My hair is a MESS! lol!
Ya, our humidity BITES!

Dang you guys sorry it's so unpleasant in your neck of the woods. Drink lots of water and use that sunscreen!

I think the South gets it the worst, but I can't lie in L.A. it's hot and sticky like you describe all summer. Our first apartment had no AC and we used to sleep on the balcony with no covers because it was so hot at night...haha

You get used to it and come to embrace it, it's summer!!!

i totally forgot to post about the wedding we went to Saturday night (06.07.0cool.gif in the Heat Wave here....

it was a small wedding, maybe 50 or 60 people, VERY small venue and guess what?

the A.C. BROKE just before the wedding started! oops.gif

It was so freakin hot - we spent 4.5 hours basically sweating like pigs...i had my hair done earlier (blown out straight and curled loosely) - um, yeah that was a waste of money - i had to wear it up smile105.gif.

all the women wear complaining b/c their make up was running, their feet were swollen - it was crazy!!!!

it was cooler outside than inside - i wound up getting so drunk b/c i just kept drinking white wine (don't know why water never seemed like a good idea) and never ate anything - the food was sitting out sweating and looked disgusting!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
