I am staying inside, let me tell you an extra human being on your body does not help the heat. Will and I had to wait until after 8pm to take my labor inducing walk last night (trying to take a walk every night-they say it helps bring labor on)...today I am staying inside and doing nothing because I cannot be outside in this.

I just checked weather.com (wich usually says it's a little cooler than the signs at the bank say...) well, it's says 100 but feels like 104 when I put in my zip code. Sooo NOT cool! Literally!!!!

FSIL is picking me up when she gets out of work and I'm going in her parents pool. FI will meet me there when he gets out, but I don't even think the pool will help!

yeah, the hot weather sucks! Like Martha, I have some sypmathy for you guys 'cause you're not used to it...but it's like that every day ALL SUMMER here. We just adjust to it and keep going. That being said I don't know a single soul who does NOT have central A/C in their house...it's a necessity here. So I can't imagine trying to deal w/ this heat and not having a/c! That's insane! You guys need to make sure to stay hydrated!!!

Oh I think were used to it.... the problem is the HUMIDITY!!! It takes a 90 degree day feel like 105! You guys have a dry heat, where if it's 100 it's 100 here we have the humidity level and that raises the heat index. smile72.gif

Oh we get the humidity too! It's lovely! lol! It's not Florida bad like what Mel is dealing with, but on average our heat index is about 5-7 degrees higher than the actual temp. Now where I used to live in FAR north Cali...that was some lovely dry heat! Almost no humidity whatsoever. It might be 105 for a month straight, but that was it. Here in Dallas it's like being in a steam room! YUCK! One of my friends from CA came to visit last year and she felt like she could barely breathe 'cause the humidity makes the air feel so heavy. It's a shock if you're not used to it.

We've got upper 90's + thunderstorms today....ick! My hair is a MESS! lol!

I just looked it up on Wikipedia and it directed me to "Italian Ice". If you're ever up in the NE, you have to get it....sooooo delicious!

"Italian ice is a frozen dessert made from either concentrated syrup flavoring or fruit purees. It is not shaved ice that is flavored, rather, it is made by the same process by which ice cream is made: mixing ingredients and pouring them into a batch freezer. The quality of Italian ice varies widely by whether it is made with flavor extracts or natural ingredients. Technically, Italian ice is the same as sorbet, but the term "Italian ice" is usually associated with the icy artificial product that comes from using extracts, while "Sorbet" is often used for products made with natural ingredients. Sometimes the term "Gourmet Italian Ice" is used to refer to Italian ice that is made from real fruit. Common flavors include cherry, coconut, piña colada, and lemon. Some specialty shops also sell a wider array of flavors, such as cantaloupe, orange and chocolate."

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
