weddings not at a resort

Besides Dreams Tulum (which looks amazing), does anyone else have any recommendations for other resorts or hotels? I was also considering a villa or something more off the beaten path than an all-inclusive resort. Does anyone know of any places that do weddings that are like this?

I'm not sure of other locations but Ajua Weddings is a wedding planning company in Mexico that helps people do weddings outside of resorts and also provide all types of other services such as photography, assistance with arrangements at the Church, etc.

still a hotel, but a little smaller and more intimate is hotel esencia-

that's what we chose, but started on a similar track, looking for off the beaten track venues. also look at maroma, xcaret which does weddings

You can also try the Ana and Jose hotel. It is small and it has an amazing beach. Go to Tulum Weddings - The perfect wedding destination. I saw it and was hoping to do mine there, but my wedding is too big. Hope you like it!!

By too big I mean I have too many guests coming and they don't fit at the hotel.

If you are going to go the non-resort route........your options are endless.

 

You could even do a ceremony on a beach far away from any hotels if you wanted.

 

I contacted these people when we were looking for photographers and they also have options for creating a wedding for you wherever you want. Wedding Photography by Michael Maurus . You might even want to have them send you their info packet just to get some ideas.

 

Some other location ideas........

 

- Akumal. There is a cannon house overlooking the bay that is popular for weddings. There are a few nice restaurants to do a reception also

- Any of the beaches along the Tulum beach road.

-Cozumel. You never hear about many weddings out there on this board. I have seen photos of places on the eastern shore that would be a stunning backdrop for a ceremony.

That is actually where our ship docks. Can you give me any more info on this?
