Hoping things happen in 3's.

About 2 months ago my Mom had to go for surgery to remove the right side of her thyroid d/t a tumor. They weren't sure if the tumor was malignant or not, so we had to wait for 2 weeks after the surgery to get the results. That 2 weeks was a long wait for everyone on our family, especially since they started talking about possible surgery to remove it about 2 months before that. Well finally we got the results and they were good news. It was benign!!!! What a relief for everyone to know that.

Well, about 1 month afterwards, my Aunt wasn't feeling very good. She would get tired very easily and was starting to get worried. A couple weeks ago she went to the Dr and they did bloodwork. Her results were not looking good, so they told her they were going to send her to a specialist and let them have a look at her. Her appointment was made for the next day! That was a good indication that they were worried about something. She went for her appointment and found out that she has leukemia. The good news is that it isn't a aggressive or even acute leukemia, but chronic. They figure that they can treat it with chemo only and she will need a few blood transfusions. Although it is not great news, she is dealing with it well, since she says at least now she knows what is wrong, so now they can deal with it.

So 2 days ago I went over to visit with my cousins wife since they just moved to the same town as us. I asked her if she had heard about my Aunt, and she commented that thay had heard and how awful it was that everyone was so worried about my mom having cancer and just after we find out she is okay, we find out my aunt has cancer. Well, about 5 mins after that was said, the phone rang. It was my cousin (her DH), and he had bad news. His mom (another one of my aunts) had called him to let him know that when her husband (his stepdad) was mowing the lawn and started getting chest pain. She took him to the hospital right away since she lost her first husband (my cousins dad) to a massive heart attack. Turns out he had a heart attack and the pain was starting again. He was transferred from the small hospital about an hour and a half from where I live to one of the city hospitals. They ended up putting a stent in and now he has been transferred to another city hospital. We are still waiting for him to be released and make sure that he is alright.

Oh yeah, the day that my aunt found out she has leukemia was the day of my great aunt's funeral. Needless to say, my Grandma has been having a stressful time lately. My great aunt's passing was not expected but not a surprise, as she was in her 90's and she did die in her sleep which was a nice comfort.

We are a close family and haven't really had to deal with too much loss or serious illness in a long time. Now it seems to be hitting all close together. We are all hoping that this was our 3, and that any news will be good news for now on.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
