Some fab inspiration here girls. Im just having a small simple cake as we only have to feed 13 including me and FI but I really want it to taste good. Thinking of going with Baileys flavour, I'll bring a bottle from duty free cos I dont think they'll have any in Tulum?

I have a friend who's a chef and he's gonna come up with the recipie and make me some trial tasters but my question is this, is it rude to present the chefs at my hotel with a recipie? I really want it to be good but dont wanna P**s them off by suggesting they dont know how to make cake... etiquette experts some advice please!
Not sure if I'm posting this correctly? I'm a pastry cook and I can personally say that if someone gave me their recipe for their wedding cake, I wouldn't mind at all! I would rather do something they exactly want (even have them come back for a tasting once I made a sample cake of their recipe). My only question is if they'd be able to do it where you are going. It's definitely worth a shot! Maybe have your WC (if you have one) approach the chef. They'll be able to feel them out better! Good luck!

If you're getting married in the Riveria Maya, I know Turtle Bay Cafe is a popular favorite and they're not pricey. Check out their website "Turtle Bay Cafe and Bakery", Akumal, Riviera Maya, Mexico, full service restaurant (Jenn Smith is the owner and she is wonderful!) Lots of BDW brides have used them or are planning on using them, including myself wink.gif

We had cupcakes. Our colors were fuschia and orange.

Here is the inspiration:

And here is an aerial view of our cupcake tree (I've just received a few teaser shots from the AHR):

Can't wait to get the full-on shot to really show our tree. It came out so well!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
