Something you wish you would have packed?

Recommended Posts

Great ideas ladies! I'm starting to buy things for our trip and starting to arrange things to one side of the bedroom for packing. 8 weeks to go, but it seems to be going qickly.

Love the shoe organizer idea. Must have the IPOD dock, loufa and water shoes(kayaking and for the falls).

Also, I noticed that when we went to the Dominican in Jan. alot of people were purchasing water rafts/balls, etc from the gift store to use in the pool(for a crazy high price of course), so I already purchased a few rafts to throw into our siutcases to use in the pool at RPTB and Sandals(we have a private pool villa). It was perfect to just lounge around and float on. The ball we just hit around and made afew new friend for an inprompt to "volleyball". You get bored sometimes inside the pool.

Does that mean you brought sneakers too? What were you going to wear 6 pairs of socks with...flip flops? LOL.

Leave the sneaks at home (unless you plan on working out of course!)...if you're hitting the town during the day...bring a comfy pair of sandals instead!
I brought sneakers with me because I was supposed to go ziplining through the rainforest. I also wore them when I went horseback riding on the beach. But did I honestly think I would wear them 6 times? So silly!

For the chub rub (I had create a thread about leg sweat addressing this issue a while back), I bought two pairs of Hanes thigh hosiery. It's like wear bike shorts but it is stocking material. Total life saver!

Seriously, Genius!!! Totally doing this! Thanks so much

*scented candles, incense or air freshener for the room

I always pack pads ..just b/c lol maybe your bm will need one

*a throw blanket from home... some days the a/c would be too cold but you dare not cut it off .. and the thin sheet on the bed would not be enough ...so I used the beach towel lol ... I'll def pack a throw next time

Hello Everyone!

Love the ideas:)

I was thinking it may be a nice gesture to find a hand held steamer that would be easy to pack. I knot that most hotels have irons and ironing boards in the room but steam is much gentler on clothes. That way if anyone in the bridal party or even a guest needs to get some wrinkles out from their clothes being smooshed in their suitcase it would be handy to have:)

Hi Everyone!!

Great ideas here.

I always bring a ziplock plastic bag with me to keep watches/camera sand free when they are in the beach bag. A cheap food bag does a great job. Also works for wet swim suits!

I never go tropical without some kind of powder for the very aptly named 'chub rub'!

A pair of light cotton leggings that you can cut as short as you need also work like cotton pair of bike shorts & work great under dresses!

If you have a small citronella candle light it at night in the room before bed, or on the balcony...Nothing worse than a mosquito-bitten bride!!! plus candles are super romantic anyway!

Fabulous ideas! I hope this thread keeps growing. I suggest a little "mini wedding day emergency kit". Maybe just a large make up bag filled with things like:

Static guard

shout wipes, chalk (like others suggested)

Safety pins

double stick tape

scissors

straight pins

bobby pins/hair ties, etc.

small can of hairspray to put in your purse for touch ups

Small trial size bottles of things you might need but don't want the full bottle size. Working at a hotel and seeing many weddings, I always thought the brides who have these little kits were genius. This way, everyone in your wedding party is covered too and it won't take up a ton of room in your suitcase.

I always take baby wipes - on the plane and when you get to your destination it is nice to be able to freshen up - especially if it is hot!

Hand sanitiser (a must) and heaps of lip balm (with a sunscreen) I have my favourites and I hate buying brands I don't know

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
