Something you wish you would have packed?

Recommended Posts

Someone had previously recommended bringing an extension cord and I totally second this!! And while this sounds a little assumed - make a list of the items you're giving to your wedding coordinator and specify which items you definitely want back and which don't matter. We had a few things go missing that were important to us and it was pretty much a miscommunication issue.

OK here are my additions -

Extra sunscreen - I brought 2 cans of SPF 85 - my husband burned wearing 85 - we ended taking everyone elses sunscreen as they left so we'd have enough.

body lotion/after sun lotion - for sunburn and peeling

Extra shampoo and conditioner - the hotel provided this but i use special - i don't normally wash my hair daily but with all of the salt and chlorine I had to - it barely made it.

bandaids

I think someone else put tampons/pads - THANK YOU THANK YOU! Although I wasn't expecting it, it came and I was prepared! Definitely do this - stress plays with your hormones.

  • 1 year later...

More ammodium and some cold meds.  Our group ended up going through ammodium like candy and my husband had to buy cold meds from the gift shop for an outrageous amount and then try and get the directions translated!!

Also those battery operated tea lights for the reception since it is so windy near the beach, our candles just kept blowing out :(

Love this....i just read all the way from the first post LOL I know its completely obvious but not one person mentionned the oh so obvious of remembering to pack your plane tickets and travel insurance documentation. Wouldnt it suck to get to the airport only to have forgotten the tickets themselves LOL WIth all the chaos of packing and excitement of getting ready to go we can definitely forget the most obvious things :)

amazing thread!

this is probably me over packing... but... I need to have options.  especially when it comes to accessories (like earrings, necklaces, hair accessories and bracelets).  They're small-ish so they don't take up too much space.

other items include:  different deodorants (I have like 3 and alternate them daily for better results), ipad (can double as a skype phone!) and hair ties (I go through what feels like 3 a day).

Thanks again!

We use electric toothbrushes at home but whenever we travel we buy normal brushes so you can just throw them out before you come home. One less thing to re-pack.

And Listerine! I usually bring 2 bottles when we travel...it's great for when you wake up after a few too many cocktails & you don't feel fresh even after toothpaste lol!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
