**HUGS**

I'm so sorry. Try to look at the positive - they will be there for the ceremony!

If they really are worried about how they'll look to everyone else, point out how they'll look to everything comign in the day before and then leaving the day after. Maybe tell them that everyone will know they don't want to be there?

They just don't care... They look at it as more of an impostion than an exciting event. If I told them no one else was coming they would stay home. I just thought that this would be something they would be excited about- I am the first of my siblings to be married. I hoped they would be excited.

I guess I should just be happy that they are coming at all... but that is actually stressing me more because now I know they don't really want to be there.
It totally sucks that your parents are not excited about the DW and staying as long as you hoped. But if they are negative maybe its better they aren't there the whole time. I know your stressed that they don't want to be there but be glad you don't have to stress over them the whole time your on vacation celebrating your marriage! You will have a lot of other friends and family that are excited to be there and you will be able to have lots of fun with them!

Aw. I'm sorry you feel sad and that they won't be there very long.

Maybe they just don't want to be in the heat and aren't really into traveling. Some people are that way. My grandmother isn't coming to mine for those exact reasons and there is nada I can do.

On the flip, they are coming to see you get married which is major :)

Stay positive!

Look on the bright side... at least you know that it's just b/c that's the way they are... and it's not b/c they don't approve of FI, would be struggling to pay for the trip, etc. And I'm going to venture to guess that they'll have the same reaction to the next one of your lot getting married!

I'm going to bet that although they are complete asses right now, they will end up having fun and regretting that they acted like that to begin with. Since they don't travel much, I bet they are worried about MX. I had a few people like that- they thought I was taking them down to crime central. They just don't realize how nice it really is.

I bet they will have a fabulous time, then regret for dragging their feet and buy you a REALLY nice BBQ to make up for it like my inlaws did. LOL

***HUGS****

I have 2 suggestions: #1: Talk to your mother, explain that you are upset and tell her how much it would mean to you to have her there Thursday-Monday - If you think it would help, tell her you need her assistance on Thursday and Monday getting organized!?!

#2. Be appreciative that your parents are going in the first place. I have read many many posts that discuss the fact that some peoples parents (including some brides) don't have their parents there at all.

You are fortunate to have them there. If they decide not to stay the whole four days, try not to let it ruin your four days...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
