One of our guests upgraded to ocean front on arrival & they put them in yucatan. So I don't see why you can't check in at yucatan & be put in RM.
Thanks Morgan! That makes me feel better:) Elena was the one who told me that the suites are only on the RM side.

I was wondering of you have booked your group, and on what side of the hotel? I am also wondering if we book on the Yucatan side, can we upgrade to the suites on the Rivieria side if we call the hotel directly?
I am worried that the rooms on the Yucatan side might not be as nice, and that we will not be able to book a suite for ousleves!
Have you run in to this issue? What do you guys think I should do? Just book on the Yucatan side? I would really like to have a suite for oursleves though, because it is our wedding and I would like the nicer room. Plus all the girls will be getting ready in the room on the day of the wedding, and it would be nice to have more space.

Hey Kristen, I haven't offical booked with Nolitours yet but it will be soon so I will let you know how everything goes. But I am sure that we will get what we want. With the renewal of the vows package I know we get a room upgrade but I am not sure if it is a suite. I too really want a suite so we have a lot of room for everything and everyone on the wedding day. So I am going to request that we get this when we book. I am sure that since you have a wedding there they will accomodate you and give you the room you want on either side.

I think we may have been upgraded, but it was to a delux room, not a suite. The room was pretty large. I liked it better than the suites. Some of the suites have their bathtub on the patio, which is kind of weird. Our guests loved the suites, but I was much happier with our room.

Also I really want to have the ceremony personalized and in English and having the legal ceremony meant I really wouldn't get that.

Meyer2010, I know that you went this route as well. How was your experience with this whole process? Did the minister you had perform the ceremony work out well? Did they make "real like" so others didn't know it wasn't actaully a legal ceremony?

Also I think you said the Cat didn't require you to have the marriage cert at the resort so you didn't have to have the legal marriage done before? Did you stay for a honeymoon as well? I think some resorts want to see a marriage cert to give you a honeymoon package. I was going to go somewhere else for our honeymoon, so that is why I am a little worried as I would want to get legally married after Mexico.
Yes, we were soooo happy we did the renewal of vows ceremony. It was cheaper and the minister we hired was great. It was very "real" and not a bit fake. We did get legally married before we went to Mexico and brought our marriage certificate just in case we needed it. But we never had to show it and things went very smooth. You will love how organized Elena/Cora/Marisol are!!! We arrived on a Sunday, got married on a Wednesday and left on a Sunday. So, actually no, we didn't have a honeymoon. We are hoping to take one this fall!!!

Good Luck to you!!!

Oh... and we did book a suite and were so glad we did. We needed the space and we used the tub on the patio alot. We had tub parties and our friends came over. Everyone loved to hang out on our patio and sometimes we would all run to the buffett, grab some food and race back to our patio and hang out. It was such a great memory.

Plus the bed was huge and you could block the room in half which was excellent on the wedding day while we got ready on one side the photographer stayed on the other half! Not to mention the fridge, safe and two sinks were great too. We felt very taken care of in the suites and they were always filling our fridge with goodies. Also, we were about 25 steps from the pool/beach which was so handy! We would get up early throw our towels out on the chairs, eat some breakfast and then lay out. We had 40 people join us and we all seemed to see eachother most of the time. We enjoyed the swim up tequila bar on the Yucatan side but I wouldn't want to stay on that side. Things were boring over there and it seemed like all the older people stayed on that side. It was kind of a buzz kill and nobody was ever in the pool over there. If you want my suggestion, stay on the RM side, you won't regret it!!!

We can't wait to go back and I think we will get the same suite... it was room 8101!!!

Good Luck!!!

yeah, i think I'm the odd ball about the suites. Our guests loved them, but I really liked our room.

When we were there the yucatan side was the wild side. dancing, loud music & topless sunbathing.

I loved how the place was small enough that we were always running into each other. Sucha great size for a group trip. I want to go back!

Thanks so much for the reassurance Erica!! I am starting to feel less stressed since I made this decision, i just don't know if we will get married first or after, but I am leaning towards after. One question, did the minister speak English?

The suite sounds so great, I will definitley request a suite on the RM side, I don't think it will be a problem if we book with Yucatan.

I finally feel like things are starting to come together, I ordered my STDs last night! YAY!

Hey Ladies,

This thread has been pretty quiet lately, any updates? I am still waiting on 2011 pricing and booking in August, but I ordered my STD and just got them yesterday (will post pics soon), we didn't put a specific date on them rather May 2011 with updates to come on our wedding website and then invitations later on.

Does anyone have the 2010 price list of flowers, dj, recpetion costs etc?

Any new pictures to be shared??

It will be August before we know it, 6 weeks and counting! Do you know when in August they get their prices out etc as i was just told 'August' by my TA.

    • Hi all, My younger sister is 5 months carrying. She is suffering from hearing loss now. She was perfectly alright before she got conceived. But once she got conceived her hearing ability started getting reduced. Is it quite common now? What would be the reason for hearing loss during the pregnancy period? After scanning the doctor said that the baby is underweight. Since she is suffering from severe vomiting, she is not eating any food. Hence she seems to be very weak. The doctor has prescribed a lot of medicines for her to stay healthy and to deliver a healthy baby. In the midst of all these she is also undergoing the treatment under a hearing aid audiologist in order to improve her hearing ability. Will she completely regain her hearing ability?
