The resort is AMAZING! Here are my recommendations/suggestions:
- bring snorkel gear bc there are lots and lots of fish to see
- make reservations for the a-la-carte the day you get there!! They fill up quick!
- The crepery is AMAZING and you must try it every night!
- The buffet on the Riveria Maya side (North Side) is much better than the other one, more variety
- The shows are absolutly fantastic and I recommend them highly
- Sports bar is very cool to check and play pool after the shows but before the disco, which is also really great too.
- If you like ceasers, they make them perfectly!

Any other questions just ask!

Erica,

We are bringing our local photographer to mexico with us. its more expensive as we have to pay for his room, but we feel it's worth it to get the pics we want.
I have heard a lot about mexican photographers just not showing up, so at least you have some room to book another!

good luck!

Have you looked into Sascha Gluck? (I think I spelled his name correctly). He has done weddings in that area and his pictures are very good and reasonably priced. His site is Destination Wedding Photographer for Cancun and Riviera Maya and the rest of the World

I also wanted to inquire about the food menu for the private reception. They sent me the menu with the options and they all looked fine to me. I was wonering for people that had the private reception which menu choice you picked and what you thought of the food.

Thanks

Hi everyone! We got married Nov 19, 2009 and had the time of our lives. All our guests said it was the best wedding they had ever been too. The service was unreal!! I'm still working on an actual review :P Just wanted to comment on the DJ service. We brought an ipod and planned to pay for the DJ service during speeches and first dances only then just have them play the ipod to say on the cost (40 vs 100 $ per Hr). However he was doing such a fantastic job that we just asked him to say. He used our ipod and was then able to take requests of songs we had prepared and mixed them really well. We were really happy with keeping him. Just a thought. The decision was easy to make in the moment though after a few toasts :) haha.

That is definitely not a silly question girl! I've heard that the ocean will almost clean the dress and not ruin it. The only thing you have to worry about it is getting it caught on rocks or coral and ripping it. Do you plan on wearing it again?

Not silly, LOTS of brides do a "TTD" or Trash the Dress session for a destination wedding. You can search the forum for trash the dress information. Maybe do a search for the type of fabric that yours is. I figure I'll do one, then rinse my dress in the tub/shower to get the salt out and let it hang in the room to dry. A little scared because I want to wear it for the at home reception, but I'm sure dry cleaning can fix most of any spots on the dress I may encounter.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
