Hello Engaged Maya,

I just sent her an email today and I expect to get a reply from her in the next few days. Do you have her email address?

Her name is Elena Asti and her email is: rivieramaya.guestservice@hoteles-catalonia.es
I was told that Cora is helping her out while she has some time off. I'm guessing they are just really busy.

Good Luck!

They told me they are completely reorganizing the staff so it is taking them a bit longer than usual. If they don't respond to your email in the next few days try resending. I emailed them yesterday and haven't heard back yet either.

BTW - thanks Morgan for the tip :) I had no idea it was that easy..lol

Hi ladies! I have been in talks with Elena for months to confirm our March 6th ceremony. Eventually she said we were "in the books", whatever that means.

I too, am a bit nervous that there is no contract or deposit that has to be put down but from the sounds of it they know what they're doing.

Have any of you girls that are doing a private reception thought about entertainment for it? I'm trying to find salsa dancers but not having much luck!

I was worried about just being "in the book." But, when I got there sure enough I saw the book & I was in it. It's such a simple little book, too.

I think I emailed to confirm everything was still "in the book" a month before the wedding. I just had this uneasy feeling about not having a receipt. I was also the first catalonia bride on the forum & didn't do a site visit.

Add me to the list of being "In the book" too! Although we did put down a small deposit on our room because we have been working with Wedding Destinations and Planning | Destination Weddings .com and it will guarantee us rooms in case the resort gets "overbooked" which I've been told can happen.

As far as entertainment goes, we are going to have a cocktail party on the beach after our ceremony so our guests can enjoy themselves as we are getting our pictures taken. We thought about adding a Mariachi (sp?) band to keep them entertained. Haven't started to look for them yet. Has anyone heard of any good Mariachi bands in the area? I don't even know what they would cost for 1-2 hours.

Hi everyone

My wedding is now 4 months away and i have started hearing from the WC. I think Morgan has mentioned before i think they tend to deal with current weddings as a priority which is fair enough. Just hold tight they will respond eventually.

I have also recieved a very informative email with photos from a guy called Demitrio Remirez, he is in charge of the private receptions and cocktail parties.

His email is rivieramaya.ventas3@hoteles-catalonia.es

I have also just discovered the cat have a new website (well i've not seen it before anyway)

Hoteles Catalonia ? 4- and 5-star hotels in Spain and the Caribbean

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
