Hi Ladies,

I thought I would share this. For some reason Pilar sent my Travel Agent all the flower options for us already. I am not sure why she sent them to the travel agent, or why she sent them this early since our wedding isn't until 10/11, and I never asked for them, but I am not going to complain ;) Hopefully you can open this, sorry the pictures aren't really clear, this is how they were sent to me.

I have no idea what I am going to pick. My colors are chocolate brown, Tans, Ivory, and Coral. I wanted to add pops of the apple or lime green, but I don't see any flowers that color.  :( Any suggestions?

Hi brides,

So, I just heard from my travel agent that Pilar is no longer a wedding planner at the CAT, I guess she has been talking with a new girl by the name of Gabriella. GREAT!?! Does anyone know of this situation or this new planner, and how she is? My TA told me not to worry since she went through 7 wedding planners at one resort with another bride she was planning a destination wedding for, so I guess thats better than 2 of 3. :)

Thats interesting that you got sent the flowers already and heard of the new wedding coordinator and I haven't. I get married May 5, so you think they would contact me.  I Guess I will have to send them an email. Thanks for the heads up

  • 2 weeks later...

DSC_8138.jpgDSC_8148.jpgDSC_8260.jpgHDSC_7941.jpgDSC_7957.jpgDSC_8017.jpgDSC_8030.jpgey guys,

Finally got some pics I can post!

Our wedding was fantastic! Gabriella and another woman Cynthia handled all of our wedding details. I did not see or hear from Pilar while I was there, so I guess she has left? But Gabriella and Cynthia were great!

The wedding went off without a hitch. When you first arrive you get a printed sheet that details when you will meet with Gabriella to go over all your details. This is when you will pay and make sure everything is what you want.

On the wedding day Cynthia met the girls in my room to take us down to the ceremony. The two women had walkie talkies to communicate with eachother and to ensure good timing for our arrival:-)

We had my husbands dad playing guitar while us girls walked down the aisle. He had the microphone and speakers, but I still did not hear him very well. It was still nice that he was there though. Gabriella read the ceremony script that I had sent her a few weeks before. My husband and I then read our own vows. We had drinks and and an informal reception line kinda thing at the ceremony site immediately following.

Our reception was a the PCB. Gabriella and Cynthia set it up perfectly. I had taken all my decorations to Gabriella's office the day before, and set up one center piece for her to see what I wanted it to look like. (Word to the wise: Arrange someone to do your announcements because that did not seem to be provided). I felt that the beginning of the reception was a little unorganized because we didnt know when we could start to go to the buffet or anything. There was no direction, so I think you are just supposed to start when you are ready. We asked on of our friends that day if he would announce dinner, speeches, and dancing. This worked well.

We hired the Dj for the dance. He was good and kept EVERYONE dancing, although he did not play many of the songs i had put on my ipod for him. The was a little glitch in his system at the beginning of our first dance. We ended up standing there for a good 2-3 min before he could get it going right. But after that, no problems.

The dancing and festivities got pretty roudy, and none of the staff seemed to mind either! One person even set the bar top on fire doing a flaming shot....the bartender just laughed:-)

My only regret is not keeping a better eye on my flowers at the end of the night. I had a keepsake hanky wrapped around my bouquet that I didnt take off in time. The staff ended up throwing out the flowers-which I agreed to. I did not realize I had left the hanky behind until the next day, at which time no one could find it.

Overall, it was a great wedding week! My only advice is to take charge of the reception duties, because there was no one else really doing that from the resort.

If anyone has anyother questions please feel free to ask! There is a lot going on when your there, and its hard to think of everything to write!! Also I have lots more pics, if you want to see something, just ask!

Few more things I remembered...

-The Dj you hire is the same one who is in the Disco at nights

-The music at the reception was not turned down at 10pm like the contract said it would be. If anything, it seemed louder!

-I ordered flowers for my hair, but they did not arrive. So my bridesmaids and I clipped flowers from the gardens for our hair. I got approval from the front desk to do this:-)

-The Dj arrived at 7pm....I think! All I know is he was there when we were ready for him.

-We got upgraded to the delux wedding package because of the number of people we had in our group. It was sooo nice! We got a couples massage, manicure, pedicure, and a romantic dinner on the beach...everything was awesome!

-We brought and assembled gift bags for our guests. Although the staff will probably hand them out for you, we found it easier to just deliver them ourselves. We had 56 adult guests, so we had a lot of bags to get out!

-The suite rooms are fantastic as well! Lots of space, and a nice area to get ready together on the wedding day.

***If anyone is interested in my chair sashes or table runners, just let me know! They are teal coloured organza.

Oh yeah...L&C in Love, most of the music the Dj played was top 40. It looked like he had tons of songs though! He can play music from your ipod or cd...but like I said, you may have to be pushy to get him to play your stuff:-)

If I asked him to play a song of mine, he did. But really, his taste in music is probably better than mine...lol...he did keep everyone dancing thats for sure!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
