I have attached the 2010 wedding package price list. I am not really sure how to attach things...so I hope this works!

For those of you who hav already been to the resort...Can anyone tell me what is the exact difference between the Riviera Mayan part of the hotel and the Yucatan part?

I know they share all ameneties and everything, so I am wondering what is the difference? Does one side have nicer rooms or is one side rated better? My TA has given me a group quote for the Yucatan side, but she said her vendor has not yet released the prices for the Riviera Mayan side. I am wondering if there will be a difference?

Thanks!

Kristen

they are pretty similar. I believe the RM side deals more with the US & the yucatan side deals with europe. If you didn't already know, you probably wouldn't think they were two hotels. The two lobbies is the only clue.

Thanks for the prices! Unfortunately, I couldn't open it...but no worries, I got an email from the resort today. Unfortunately the only thing they sent was the exact same thing that is posted on the website! I was really more curious about location option, and extra pricing - like for flowers etc (which I did state in my original request). It kind of bothers me that those things are not on the website like so many other resorts. Plus other resorts sent TONS of info - pictures and pricing of "extras." Good thing all you ladies have given some info - even if it is not for 2011, I have an idea.

Hey Kristen - i was going to say the opposite to Morgan - lol! RM side seemed to be mainly europeans like me and the Yucatan side for the US - LOL! Really though i think the only difference is that they have different receptions - you wouldnt know they were 2 seperate hotels! It might be worth looking on tripadvisor about the rooms as there are loads of reviews on there.

Thanks Kristen - this is really helpful as it tells you exactly what you need for the legal wedding ie; what documents. Our TA here in the UK was a little uncertain as she said it differs from hotel to hotel - how im ahead of the game!

No problem! Glad to be of service:)
I just heard back from Elena today about the difference between the two sides of the resort. Apparently the only difference is that the Superior and Suite type rooms are only offered on the Riviera Mayan side. So there we go...that's good to know!

This thread is wonderful! You all have given me so much info already - thanks! So I emailed Elena to try to set up a site visit at the end of June when we will be in Playa. Of course, with my luck, she will be out of town. But she said Marisol could help. Does anyone have experience with her? Im just worried she might not have all the right information.....what do you think?

Marisol is wonderful! She speaks great english and was very helpful for us! If she is unsure of anything, don't worry, she will get the answer. Write all your questions down and make a copy for her... that way she can have a list of her own.

Good Luck!

Glad to know Marisol knows her stuff! This picking a resort is becoming so stressfull! I want something we love, but priced fairly for our guests. My family keeps saying that we should do what we like, and if people are going to come, they will find a way, a few hundred dollars won't stop em! But I don't know. I really like the CAT in many ways, but I just can't get over the white tent!! I just really don't like it. I know someone asked recently about different options and it was a "no" but Im hoping I could even pay extra for a flower huppa or something. The base packages are so much less than other places, it wouldn be out of the question for us. We will see!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
