I dont think there is an alternative - as when i was last there - 2 weddings took place and they were both in the white tent in the 'lagoon' area - it specifys this in the literature I have as well.

Thanks Maya - you really have been a great help.

I am having the legal ceremony but i am going to request the private reception as we are travelling from London so the 16 people travelling with us have really had to save quite a lot of money and this will be our actual wedding day; so i too am budgeting for any extras.

The cost of the flowers is really good and i bet they looked lovely.

Just one final question the grill menu of approx $60 is this just for the food or its it the total cost of the private reception per person?

Thank you so much x

I'm relatively new to these forums. We just got engaged last weds and already planning for next Feb! I am looking at the CAT and this forum has sooo much info! Thanks ladies! Im curious if the private reception pp cost includes all drinks as well. From what I've seen so far, some resorts charge pp for a private reception, PLUS extra pp for drinks during that time! Seems a bit crazy!

The private ceremony is $60 per person and $3o for the Kids. That will include all your food and drinks for the private reception. We had the grill menu which was nice because they grill it for you on the spot. We also had side iteam coffe, tea, different fruit and cakes. It was a lot of food. People really enjoyed it and from what i heards, the grilled fish was the favorite.

Hope this helps.

Just realised we are in May already - thats means only 3 months until we get our dates confirmed. It will be here before we know it!

I have the 2010 wedding package price lists. But that is not really new anymore. And I dont have a price list for any "extras" that can be added to the package.

So if I am wanting to have our wedding towards the end of March 2011, and I am only doing a symbolic ceremony...should I wait until August to start pestering Elena? Or should I start earlier?

I think it is only for anyone having a legal ceremony that we cant get the date until August. I know in the past those having a symbolic ceremony have been able to get their dates earlier. So i dont suppose theres any harm in trying to make contact with her. Im not sure if this is when all the prices come out though as I booked through a TA and not direct with the hotel.

As soon as anyone has any pricing information for extras and if i get anything from TA once my date is confirmed -please can they post so as we can all have a sneaky look.

Can someone post the 2010 prices? I have been trying to get a response, but no luck so far! The website is very bare bones with no prices (that I see anyways!) We really want to get married next Feb so we want to start narrowing down! We are going to be in Playa next month so we want to visit the ones we are deciding between.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
