Beach party

Recommended Posts

HI ALL!

I have a quick question....

My wedding is on a Friday at 1:00. I haven't planned what we are going to do between the ceremony/pictures and dinner, but have a quick question for those of you who may have been there on a Friday night.

I'm curious about the Fri. night beach party that I have heard mentioned. Rather than spending a ton of extra $$ on renting the disco or private reception, I thought about just having everyone go to that. Whats it likehuh.gif

Any help would be great.....also suggestions for the down time after the ceremony would be great!

I would make sure the beach party is on that Friday. Sometimes they don't have it or they switch the days. Ours was not on a friday when we were there. I know there is a ton of threads about what to do with an earlier ceremony I would try searching that. I didn't like the beach party when we were there but I know other girls did. It might of been just a rare occurance. I'm sure other brides can pitch in though!

The beach party was supposed to be 2 different nights during the week that I was there and it was canceled twice b/c of wind. Almost every other night, there was a reception on the beach, so they wouldn't have been able to have it. I think it always used to be on Friday, but now with the popularity of beach receptions rising, it's not a definite. It ended up being on Saturday when I was there.

Yeah I have heard it was on Saturdya, but we are going off of the same idea...to save money, just have everyone go to the party. We are still planning on doing that, if it is cancelled, we have our Bose Soundock, we will post up somewhere and play music and dance and what not.

It was on Saturday when we were there. They basically just move the entertainment show that is normally on stage down to the beach. The first part of the show is audience participation- which i always found to be the best part- where they have a dance-off with guests or something like that. Then there is a fire show- blowing flames and stuff like that, then some guys who juggle and do do flips and other tricks, and then they turn the music on and people can dance. There may have been some other stuff too buts that all i remember.

So I'm still at a complete loss for how to have the day of our wedding flow. Lizz...did you say that you had your wedding early in the day? What did you do in between since you can't have the reception dinner until 6:30? Our wedding is at 1. It just seems like a long time in between.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
