My wedding was at 4:00. It was originally supposed to be at 12:00, then it got moved to 2:00, then finally to 4:00. I kept emailing and emailing the wedding coordinator at the RIU corporate office. Whenever there was a cancellation, she moved me to a later time, so I eventually got the 4:00 spot. Sorry I'm not much help!

We had our wedding at 2 which I think was perfect, maybe even an hour late! It meant we could wake up at a decent time, have breakfast and head off to the spa. Our guests relaxed in the morning, my husband even went snorkeling while my MOH and I were at the spa. By 2, there was a bit of shade at the wedding gazebo. After the ceremony, we hung around and enjoyed the steel drum band, had some punch and took some pictures. After that, we went at sat around at the bar by the quiet pool for awhile, took some more pictures and were actually a little late for dinner! The guests who wanted to, changed out of their fancy clothes for a couple hours but everyone was dressed nicely for dinner. There were a few pictures we missed out on taking since we ran out of time but I guess we could have been taking pictures instead of visiting at the bar. No matter what time your wedding is, the day will flow, your guests will occupy themselves, it will be great, I promise!

My wedding is on a Friday at 1:00. I haven't planned what we are going to do between the ceremony/pictures and dinner, but have a quick question for those of you who may have been there on a Friday night.

I'm curious about the Fri. night beach party that I have heard mentioned. Rather than spending a ton of extra $$ on renting the disco or private reception, I thought about just having everyone go to that. Whats it likehuh.gif

Any help would be great.....also suggestions for the down time after the ceremony would be great!

They beach party is never on the same day. When we were there it was on Sunday. Go to We back....Lots to share post. You can read how our day went we also had a 1pm ceremony.

Have everyone do their own thing. We are having our wedding at 1pm too. I am planning on taking off to the pool bar for some drinks ...lets me cool off and get out of my dress for a little bit.

We had our wedding at 1 pm...The ceremony lasted for bout 45 mins, and we were all off taking pics for about an hour and a half. After that me and my husband went to the room and hung out while the rest of our guests went shopping or just hung out. It will flow, trust me. the resort has so much to do that everyone will have a good time. After dinner we all went and changed into comfy clothes and went and sat near the Blue Mountain bar and played cards and laughed and what not. Come to think of it, they may have had the Beach Party and I didn;t know because I don't think anything was going on on stage... At the end of the night, we went to the club and then that was the night. It was easy going. Some people didn't show up after dinner because they were so exhausted, which is also undertsandable.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
