The locals are saying that the rainy season has arrived early, so I wish all of the people having weddings from here on until October the best of luck.
Great review Mel! I would love to hear/see more about Melia as we are staying there with most of our guests in July.

Congrats!

I will download all of my pics I have of the Melia and post the link to the album. It was very nice. Lots of open spaces and a ton of vegetation. I've stayed at 3 different resorts in PV and none compare to this one. The rooms are really nothing to speak of out of the ordinary. Bed, couch, TV, safe, big sliding glass door. Standard room. We had an oceanview and it was truly an ocean view. Some hotels tell you oceanview but only if you stand on your balcony and cock your head way around you can see the ocean in the distance. We could hear the waves at night no problem! I saw a "club" room, basically the timeshare rooms. They are VERY nice complete with jacuzzi on the balcony. I have no idea how you would book one of those. I never saw an M-class room so can't tell you about that. The best advice I can give you is don't judge it by the pictures and description on the internet. The website makes it look like a cheesy flinestone, not very high class or pretty resort. It is just the opposite! Flinstones are strictly over by the kids area off away from everything else, you won't notice it unless you look for it.

PM me if you have an specific questions!

Thank you Mel! The reviews on tripadvisor scare me, but I figure we are going with such a big group that we will make the best out of it. But reading your review makes me feel so much better! I am off to see the pics!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
