Hi ladies,

I'm a newly engaded (4 weeks) bride to be. And like many of us I had been planning my fictious wedding for years. I joined this site a few months ago to get an idea about destination weddings and to see if it was something I wanted to do. Now that I am engaged and reality has set in I think a destination wedding is the only way to go with our huge familes and our small budget.

But heres the thing..... I have no idea where to start. I know we really like the idea of getting married in Cabo, but where and when is completly up in the air! How did you choose a hotel or vevue out of 50? Are they easy to contact? Do they send you a price packagehuh.gif? AHHHHHH!!!! I am so overwhelmed and havn't even started!!

Can you girls help out this newbiehuh.gif??

Stressed,

I just started by looking at places on the internet - thats how I stumbled upon this fabulous web site. We went through a TA and I actually contacted a few of them to see who could get us the best price once we picked our resort. I found out a few other people had been to our resort and all the reports were good - you will find tons of advice on here too. Good Luck with your planning!

I would start by looking at the feedback from all the other BD Brides...see what grade the resorts got etc...But before that you need to come up with a budget...once that's in place you can talk with some of the TA's and see which resorts fit your budget and then go from there...There is a ton of information...take a deep breath and relax...it will all work out...Besides you've hit the jackpot as far as information goes...no need to reinvent the wheel these gals have done and made it better!

Good luck planning!

Congrats! I would say read reviews on here from other Cabo weddings, set a budget, and then start checking out the websites of the resorts you are interested in. It will be easy to narrow it down to just a few resorts once you decide what are the things that you "must have" like do you want a really big and fancy resort or do you want a small place that you and your guests can feel like you have the entire place to yourselves, do you want an AI or just a hotel, do you want affordable for your guests or do you want the wedding of your dreams and your guests just have to suck it up .....

Few questions to def ask- what is the day pass charge and what does it include? Are outside vendors allowed and is there a fee?

Happy Planning!

Lindsay,

I went online to see/read reviews of hotels that I liked and ones I'd visited before. From there, I emailed the resorts/hotels' wedding coordinators/contacts for wedding package/pricing info. From there I was able to see how much everything would cost and what fit best for my budget.

After that I did a site visit, and visited two or three different hotels and then decided.

It really helped a lot though, getting those initial packages via email, so I was able to see up front how much they were going to charge for everything! And what they could customize for me (private dinner reception/music, etc).

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
