Cabo Surf Brides...

Hey Ladies...

I was wondering if any of you got married at Cabo Surf Hotel with out reserving the block of rooms. I know Christa is goign to get married there but (correct me if I'm wrong) I think she reserved the rooms.

I'm asking this because my guests will be staying in DT Cabo and I need to factor in a location fee.

Thanks!

Ooops....

Sorry, I had more questions about Cabo Surf....

1. Do you have the option to bring your own bev? If so what was the coorage/mixer fees like?

2. Do you use them for the cake?

3. How much did you have to spend on transportation to get your guests there?

Thanks!!

Hi there,

I am getting married at the CS the weekend after Christa. I have a huge guest list so booking the rooms was not a problem. However, I believe that Armando will allow you to ue the site without booking rooms. I believe you have to pay a site fee though.

as for your other questions

1. We are doing an open bar, but are bringing in our own wine. FH is quite a wino and we got a great deal from a winery in Napa that we belong to (well, the wine club that we belong to). They're not charging corkage. We negotiated all of this up front. Again, our wedding is going to be much larger than Christa's so we may have had more leverage for negotiation.

2. We're using Jennifer Hatton for our cake. I believe Janet used their cake.

3. We are not paying for our guests' transportation to get to the hotel.

We did not bring our own. We had 4 hours open bar for $42 plus we had wine at dinner.

We did use their cake, and it was okay. We didn't really care about cake though. I'm guessing you could get an outside vendor. Tasha is right though -- negotiate everything up front!

3. How much did you have to spend on transportation to get your guests there?

We also did not pay for this. None of our guests were in downtown Cabo anyway.

Have you seen the morning sickness lollypops? I hear those help some.

Ugh, planning. It's just insane. I will be really thrilled when it's all over. I am stressing out over the huge # of people coming. and everything else. Otherwise, I am okay cheesy.gif

oh good. poor thing. you will be out of the woods before you know it!

are you going to find out the sex?

NO we don't have everything planned. I mean, the big stuff is taken care of but some minor details like my hair & makeup and um, the florist. we still have to nail that stuff down. nothing like waiting until the last minute!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
