Are you coming or what?

Yikes! I've never heard of the 4 day etiquette rule on the RSVPs either! I must be one of those annoying wedding guests... LOL! (Sorry) I DID read about a 30-day rule-of-thumb though. If you didn't put a deadline on it, then maybe that's what they're thinking too...30 days? The ladies here definitely have good points/suggestions. Hope it works out for the better!

I have gotten very few responses from people. There were a few that were verbal and I just went in on the website and did it myself for them. I just recently sent out an email to everyone that had been invited and had not said they weren't coming to let them know the cost had gone up again due to fuel costs. At the bottom of the email I added a little note that it people had already booked, disregard the email, and those who won't be joining us could email me back and let me know and I would take them off the mass wedding email list. I have actually got responses back following that email. Yeah!! Maybe a couple more emails and we might actually have a close to final count!

You are never gonna get them all to reply and when they do that doesn't mean they are coming lol

We had 35 say they were coming 3 have booked lmao I'm gonna worry about it nearer the time - budget for the majority and then you're in for a pleasant surprise when its cheaper lol

Just to update. I've got 4 weeks to go now, a little less than a month, and I haven't gotten anymore than the 5 back. Crazy. I figure that at this point, people are just not going to send them them to me (the last date I have to RSVP is this week). LOL. Oh well. I pretty much know who's coming but I can relate to all of you cause it is so frustrating when you took the time to mail

and seal and post each one of them. :) I guess it just comes with "Bride Territory."

Sad to say, I think that this was the worst part of the planning experience. People don't understand why you need these numbers......for seating purposes, food, number of tables (which leads to number of centerpieces), cake size, number of favors, welcome bags........... basically EVERYTHING!!! Try not to worry. Just continue to check with your TA and if you are cutting it close and running out of time, as much as I hate this, start making phone calls.

Yikes- 4 days is asking a lot IMO. This is a DW- it's not like they just show up to the park somewhere in town. It requires a little more planning on the guests part.

Some people might not even know if htey are coming until a few months before- we had guests book totally last minute because they ended up having more money than they anticpated. It's the joy of a DW.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
