Curly hair girls -please come in

Recommended Posts

I know that I saw some photos here, of some beautiful lady with her hair (REALLY curly hair!) being worn down!

She looked stunning! And like she stepped off the cover of a magazine... But I keep trying to be realistic. My hair is not 'curly' - but rather, 'wavy.' And it blows up disgustingly frizzy with humidity. I DON'T want to be forced to wear a tight-nit bun... I'm thinking "loose" with some SERIOUS anti-frizz, conditioning creme (or something of the like!) will be what I'm going to do.

Curly is great... if you're naturally curly!

And to all of you who bitch about about being so STRAIGHT, or so CURLY... Try being stuck in the middle!!! LOL. Grass is always greener... wink.gif

My hair is basically the same as Heidi. I used to always get my hair braided when I went anywhere. The first time I got it braided down there, and it was not a good experience, so my Mom would braid mine and my sisters hair before going. Now I went to Cuba a couple years ago without braids and my hair wasn't too bad, so I am hoping to have my hair down somewhat. If I keep it all down, I will get so hot and will keep playing with it and it will get frizzy. At the same time I don't want to pull it all back without any curls.

So far my Mom has been playing with a couple of different styles, and they weren't too bad, but I didn't take any pics.

I have naturally really tight curly hair. That gets frizzy in almost any weather.

I was so worried about this that I had them straighten it and then pull it back because I just didnt want to worry about my hair all night. I knew if I tried to wear it down I would have been in the ladies room every 15 minutes checking on it.

Curly hair? No problem! I wore my hair as natural as I do every day with the addition of a little extra mousse to help maintain the frizzies. I might have liked wear a veil but, that just isn't my style. I really love that my wedding day pictures look like "me" and not like "me all dolled up for a wedding".

the plan is to straighten mine as usual and then put it up. i get so hot so fast so it will have to be up no matter what! i will have to see how my hair handles the heat when i get there. if it wont go straight then i will be pulling it back curly. i may have to do the "put a few pins in it messy look" too. we will see.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
