Airfares just seem to go up. I researched flights to Hawaii to determine what the overall cost is going to be for the DW...and in order to avoid TWO DAYS of travel with multiple stops, the best I saw leaving and getting to Hawaii same day was $1,250 per person from Toronto. And that doesn't include tax and taxes are ridiculous here on airfare. So that's another $200 almost on top of that per person. It is like $3,000 just to get there for 2 people. So frustrating!

Sometimes we drive to Buffalo as flights are cheaper there. But not by that much in this case.

I have seen some deals though if you fly out of Phoenix or Las Vegas...so possibly using points for a flight to one of those cities and then booking a flight to HI from there might save some money?

You can also try booking flights leaving on an off day when routes aren't as busy. I think if you leave on weekends it can cost more than during the week.

Someties it is cheaper to take a day and say fly to vegas....spend the night and then book a direct flight from vegas to HI.

Remember-IF you book any airline ticket with an airline....on their site ( not on priceline) and the fare goes down-CALL immediately-they give you a full CREDIT of how much it went down!

I watched our wedding airfare for days-it stayed at 749 for 2 people for days so I booked it. No chit-the next day it went down to 639 for 2 people-I was so annoyed. I called, got the credit and then used the credit to book the "bigger" seats! At least its something. Airline credits are good for one year. GL!

October is "higher season" in Maui than September is.....it's possible that the tickets may not go on sale for October, like they did in September. Later in October (closer to Halloween) is even busier, as they do a huge Halloween thing in Lahaina each year and thousands and thousands fly in for that.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
