Sunquest Out Of Standard Rooms

Can you guys believe this?

We booked out rooms this week and currently have 15 people booked for Riu Ocho Rios the week of Jan 17-24.

The travel agent called today and told me there are no standard rooms available for those dates. They even tried to reserve more space with Riu and couldn't. We were told we would need to upgrade to oceanview for $50 pp more if we wanted to go.

I think this place is filling up fast for Jan. Any brides that haven't yet booked (I may be on the only one), you may want to look into booking now.

We have the same problem! We have the majority of our people booked but there were some that were "thinking about it" CRAZY!!!

And the worst thing is that the oceanview and the standard room have pretty much the same view.

when is your wedding?
I only have 15 booked there could be several more that book in my group.
Have TA checking how many oceanview there are.
I am starting to think maybe I should of looked into Riu Montego Bay as Riu Ocho Rios is soo popular.

That IS crazy... I booked for some of my guests but, some other people havnt booked yet, Im getting worried that if they dont do it fast, they wont be able to get a room, I booked one month ago for March-April,,, They better be quick!!

that is crazy considering the amount of rooms that the riu has...altho, there is ALOT of bdw brides gettin married in january and if ppl are having like 100 ppl weddings, i can see it filliing up quickly...but ya, i heard something about april being pretty full too already!

We had the same issue for our wedding in April. We had 12 couples booked and then were told there were no more seats available. Pretty stressful, because we still had quite a few people left to book. After many discussions we have moved our plans to March! We were told that there was 50 seats available....so we sent a note to everyone to book ASAP!

I am getting married January 14. We own a home based travel company so we are booking our own quests. Our group rep said that all she can do for us is start putting people on waiting lists becuase all the rooms and the flights are just about full and sunquest is not sure how much room they are going to get from transat and the riu

What date are you staying till? They are telling my TA that there is lots of rooms in ocenview for the week we are there so I wasn't worrying too much.
Do you think I should be booking in my Matron of Honour?? i was waiting cause she is in the process of finding new work.
January must be absolutely packed with weddings! Wow could be a really fun time
