Grand Palladium Riviera Maya

Recommended Posts

We are getting married June 5 at the Grand Palladium Riviera Maya. I have been working with Rocio the WC and Olga, Room Reservations manager

Ceremony: 5:00pm on Kantenah beach.

>Music: just recorded music. Might do a 3-piece band, but trying to keep costs down.

>Decor: We opted to not have the red carpet, so instead Rocio WC will sprinkle rose petals (free of charge). We are going to either make our own chair ties or omit them. I don't like the color choices the resort offers. Will have flowy white canopy for ceremony.

>Cost: $1300 for ceremony. We are bringing our own reverand she they are waiving $250 of that. Includes 8 people (bride, groom and 2 guests). Each additional guest is $20. I tried over and over to get that waived, but no luck. She said you don't have to pay it, but then you just get 8 chairs, cake for 8 and champagne for 8.

>Arranging for cart/train to pick up our guests at 4:45pm at Kantenah lobby to take to reception site.

Reception: private reception at Gran Azul from 7pm-11pm.

>Music: No band, just recorded music - they will set up mic, cd player and speakers. If you don't hire the band they cancel it. Usually at La Laguna and Gran Azul there is a band playing until 11pm.

>Cost: $45-55 pp depending on the menu you choose. Set menu, meaning you have to pick one meal that everyone has.

>Decor: white fabric ceiling decor with lights. Package says it is $150, but trying to get for free... Package includes on flower arrangement for head table. Hurricane candle holders come on each table. You can purchase additional flowers (around $45-50 per) or bring your own decor. Rocio said you can mail a box to her attention with decor.

Room Reservations: Working with Olga, the reservations manager. Set up a block of 15 rooms at a cost of $85 pp/pm AI. We put down one night deposit on the 15 rooms (or $2580) which is 100% refundable until 15 days prior to arrival. Paid with credit card authorization form. Balance is due 15 days prior to arrival on one credit card - meaning you cannot split between different people's cards. We are having people mail us checks a month prior. Annoying - but this was the only way to get a low rate. We also suggested to our guests to go through a TA or online to book room/airfare packages on their own. We mostly did this block as a courtesy to our family to make the trip affordable.

Ok, that is all I can think of for now..

I am just going to put this out there for anyone that is looking for info on this resort as well.

This is another forum and is great. I have been a member for a few years now, and will be getting married at the Palladium in Punta Cana. They really are great resorts!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
