I feel the same way. I was thinking about it, but my FI shut me downthatswck.gif
If it was just jumping in the water, maybe, but I don't think he likes the "frolicking" part of it.

I think we're going to do it, but now I'm in a panic trying to find a "replica dress" so that I don't ruin the original one.

My dress is mostly charmeuse and I've heard that any water will stain the dress (especially impt when steaming it).

So if anyone's got a slinky halter dress they're willing to sell for cheap...

I purchased another gown specifically for this purpose. I'm still waiting to see my other TTD pics, but here is one:

I thought it was slightly cheesy but I liked the photos so decided to do it anyways.

I wasn't planning on using my actual dress, because I needed it for my AHR and want to sell it after (and my parents would have been so hard on me if it got ruined, saying it's so stupid). So I bought a long white slim fitting dress on sale to use for that.

But on my wedding day the bottom got wet a little and it was obvious that the ocean was actually making it cleaner, not dirtying it at all. So I ended up wearing it! Afterwards I rinsed it in the shower and it came out so clean that I didn't even bother dry cleaning it before the AHR! If I hadn't cleaned it in the ocean/shower I defintiely would have needed to dry clean it because it got so dirty with sand on my wedding day.

we didn't have that much fun doing the shoot (like others have said), it was more posed (i.e. not like "okay you guys have fun and I'll just take the photos"). I think it depends on the photographer's style, also we were on the resort beach with people around, and the beach at our resort was kinda crappy so we were trying to work around it to be at the good parts, and sometimes we would step on rocks which was painful. Also we had woken up early to do it, when really we would have liked to sleep in and do it later (but then the beach would have been too busy). That didn't help because although my husband didn't mind the idea of the shoot, he wasn't happy about getting up early. My photographer seemed tired too. Anyways, all around it was more like work than fun, but I don't mind, the photos are awesome, I just didn't have the experience others have of saying it was really fun. I think the photographer's style would determine a lot of this seeing as some don't do posing they just capture whatever is going on

you could always do it on your own, without your new husband! I mean, it's called Trash the Dress not Trash the Suit!!! Obviously you wouldn't do nearly as many photos and poses, but, what I'm getting at, is just because your husband doesn't want to shouldn't stop you from getting a few photos taken of you lying on the beach and in the water with your dress.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
