I may end up getting a reception dress and using it, or using my original dress, or not doing one at all.
I'm right there with you, IslamoradaBride.

I love the pics I've seen, I'm sure it would be hilariously fun and we'd giggle and have the greatest time.
My problem is time and budget. And I don't know how my FI feels about it. I think (I know!) he's already a bit worried that the price of the wedding has already gone up by about $2,000 in the past month and we still have 6 more months to go and some of that was photography.shitfan.gif

Good photographs are really worth it to me though. I've always been into photography though...

Ugh. i just don't know sad.gifshots.gif

I am doing it. I got another dress not because I was scared of ruining mine but because mine is kinda thick and big and I would be miserable with it soaking wet. So, I bought a lighter thinner dress from Ann ( part of the forum) for a hundred bucks. It use to be called Wash the Dress. Because it literally washes it. But was changed to Trash the Dress because people do all kinds of different things. Ride horses go into jungles... I have even heard of a girl wanting to get in a paint ball fight with her DH afterward. Of course the paint didn't come out. The pictures looked amazing though and so fun. It doesn't have to be ocean shots.

Definetly going for it in my dress! Since we only like the TTD water pics like in the cenotes in the Rivera Maya we are doing it right after a lunch reception. bunny_4.gif

Figured by the time we get back on the ship the dress should be mostly dry and I can wear it for the rest of the evening and all I will need to do is fix my hair. wink.gif

I've spent years thinking about that special dress. I can't stand the thought of thrashing not even for those special photos. I know that my dress could still be ok but I just can't stand the thought of going in the water with my dress on.

I'm not going to get over worried about getting it marked or anything. I just want the day to casual on the day. Knowing me I will end up with mud all over the hem and my dinner all down the bodice!

I want to keep mine. Maybe it will be used in the future - or even in a childs dressing up game. My nan is hopefully making my dress so it's going to have quite a lot of sentimental value.

I will be keeping my dress to see if my future daughter (if I have one) will want to wear it.....though most likely she will want to wear something of her own, not my dress. Which I totally understand :)

Your dress comes out cleaner than you actually think if you do it in water....The pictures are for a life time and it is worth it :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
