Trash-The-Dress Poll!

Recommended Posts

I love it! My FI isn't a fan because he think my dress may get damaged but he has agreed to do it, plus after talking to our photographers who are flying down with us who had a destination wedding and did a trash the dress he felt much better about it!

I am ecstatic for our TTD shoot! The pictures are absolutely breathtaking. We are leaving for the Riviera Maya in 2 weeks. I don't think we'll make it to a cenote for the shoot like I initially wanted... I REALLY wish we could, but I don't think time will allow us. So, we're planning to do it the day after our wedding at our resort on the beach!

Several of my friends have done a TTD before, and their dresses were perfectly fine afterwards. You just rinse it off in the shower, hang it up to air dry and then have it dry cleaned when they get home. I'm not worried about it at all. I guess the one benefit of doing the TTD at the cenote, if you are concerned about your dress with salt water, etc., is that the cenotes are all fresh water.

  • 2 weeks later...

I REALLY want to do this, but gotta see how the budget comes out first.  Our brilliant photog is like $900 for the TTD session.  I need my headcount and wedding estimate before I book that.  *sigh*  Very much hoping to do it though!

I'd love to TTD!  I was in Paris when I saw my first TTD on Champs-Elysees - a girl was covered in paint by the time her maids finished with her!

The breath taking photos underwater are what truly convinced me - I mean hey, when else am I going to wear it? I am all about "living in the moment".  If I have a daughter, I'll want her to choose her own dress.  We'll do it for sure if yet another photography session can be squeezed into the budget.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
