For some reason your post isn't showing up in the quote.  But anyway - I did try on the Galante!  I found it a little too "foofy," though it did give a great hourglass shape (which I don't have AT ALL, but this dress gave it to me!).  I tried a cheap knock-off too, and I thought it was actually nicer than the Galante, because it flowed better. I really prefer the Dulconee - it's a much softer look, and so much more comfortable too.

Just to reiterate - this is NOT my final dress, I just tried it on once.

Wow, you really made that dress your own!  What you ended up with doesn't seem particularly unique (not to say that it's not gorgeous), so I'm surprised you didn't find anything else you liked that was more like what you wanted.  But anyway, it turned out great, and you can say no one else will have your dress for sure!

Here is mine...  I had a hard time finding what I wanted so after some adjustments, mine looks nothing like the model!  It's Casablanca 1977 but I removed the shoulder strap and shoulder applique, added a beaded belt and removed some layers of crinoline.

I LOVE this dress!! I dont think its too much for a destination wedding. Its perfect. The dress I picked for my wedding dress is a poofy ball gown but very light. Whatever you feel pretty in, wear it. don't worry about it not being a destination dress. This dress is stunning on you.

I agree! Definitely ridiculous given it's a huge purchase and MAJOR part of the day! You need to be able to see yourself in it and how it might look in pictures.  If a store didn't allow it, I snuck in a pic in the change room or had my friend do it.  So glad you found your dress though! Congrats!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
