HELP - What to do after the wedding?

Recommended Posts

I just found out that the only time available for us to get married is 11:00AM. So after the ceremony, toasts and pictures our guests are going to have about 4 to 5 hours before dinner. We are on a budget so don't know if an excursion is feasible. We were planning on getting married then do the toasts and pictures, followed by the dinner and a party on the beach.

We are going to EdenH Real Arena in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Anyone have any suggestions? A cheap excursion, a different schedule... anything?

I have been to the resort. Not sure if you want to do things in reverse order. They have a nice area where they do the night activity maybe you can take a hr break after the picts then do your dancing outside then have your dinner. It may be a bit too hot though. I know when I was there nothing went on during the day in the "village" area.

I have been to a wedding down south that was at 11 as well and we just got changed back into our bathing suites and went swimming until the dinner...it was actually really nice to be able to go back into the pool...the bride and groom as well eventually came to the pool for a quick swim without gettin gher hair done after their pics and stuff were done and then before dinner they just changed back into their attire and went for dinner...well we all did...and it was really nice to have it that way actually....

The lunch thing sounds nice. I think a few ladies on the forum have actually done that.

As far as inexpensive excursion, I think there is a nice glass bottom boat you guys can enjoy. Or a mini cruise. Let me see if I can find the name of the company

Are you having a symbolic or legal ceremony? If you are having a symbolic ceremony, then it should be very easy to move your time around. And I think even with the legal ceremony, someone told me that you can sign the papers with the judge laterhuh.gif

  • 2 weeks later...

We are doing a legal ceremony and unfortunately this is the only date and time available the entire week.

I like the light lunch followed by hanging out by the pool, I'm just worried about what our guests will think. But I guess the only people that matter on our wedding day is my FH and myself.

I still like the idea of doing a group excursion and would appreciate the name of the company, thanks Twinkletoes.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
