Has anyone shipped weddings stuff to ROR?

Recommended Posts

I've spoken to Chandlyn and she assured me that it would be okay. But, have any of you ROR brides shipped wedding items to the hotel before arriving? Did it work out, no issues? I'm planning on sending all of my center pieces, and gift boxes ahead of time. Maybe even my wedding favors. But I'm nerves. Also for you past brides who did gift bags/boxes, was the hotel able to put them in your guest rooms before the guest arriving to their rooms? Only 25 days before we leaving to began our adventure. Excited and stress! Thanks ladies....

I don't have an answer for you but I was wondering the same thing.

We were thinking about sending some of our stuff ahead of time and see out having our gift bags placed in everyoneâ€s room before they check in but super worried to do it.

Hopefuly a past bride will be able to help!

When I asked Chandlyn about this several months ago she said that I was welcome to ship things ahead of time but that she would not be responsible for them if something happened to them before I arrived. Also, the shipping guy at my job advised against it b/c once the package gets to the Montego Bay airport there really isn't any way to track it.

I remember another bride being told there was a per room charge for putting the gift bags in the rooms. Sorry i don't remember how much it was. We just gave them out the night that everyone arrived at the welcome reception. I thought about having them at the front desk and passing them out as people checked in, but I'm glad i didn't do that b/c out of 18 rooms, only 1 was ready when all my guests arrived so they had to leave their luggage in the lobby for about 2 hours and that would have just been one more thing to worry about.

I didn't ship anything b/c I was told that they could not be help responsible for receiving it. I brought down TONS of stuff, which was a pain, but worth it for my peace of mind. I put together my OOT bags in my hotel room with the help of my sisters. My guests arrived on 4 different days, so I went down to the lobby when they got there and handed them out. If I didn't catch them in the lobby, the front desk told me what their room # was and I delivered them myself. I think the charge for them to deliver the bags is $2.00 per bag.

We are leaving in 29 days, and we decided against shipping anything. At this point we are too close to the wedding to have the added stress of wondering if it got there in time...we might've done that earlier on but now I'm scared to ship anything and have it get lost, how would i replace it on such short notice?? ya know what i mean?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
