Missfreckles,

You truly only need one meeting with the WC once you are there.  You make all of your decisions via emails with the WC and the meeting is just to verify the information and to pay.  I know it is difficult to not worry, but it really does all work out!  Trust me!  It is ok to send a quick email back to the WC if it will make you feel better just to ask about the process in getting started with the planning.  When my husband and I met with our WC (we had Lillian) we were so impressed with how organized she was and knew everything that we discussed.  I brought copies of our emails and our spreadsheet that we sent back and forth just in case (you can certainly do that to make yourself feel better) but I did not need them.  Barcelo truly has the DW thing worked out and a finely tuned machine!  You chose well with Barcelo and will definitely have the wedding of your dreams.  Good luck!  smile03.gif

We are getting married on April 29/2013.

Our flights are booked and our date has been confirmed.

However I haven't heard back from the WC since August 28th. When she told me she would be in touch within a few days to start planning.

I understand they are EXTREAMLY busy so I am trying to get as many details on here as possible ( thanks to everyone for posting its been really helpful with a lot of my decisions )

My main concern is that we fly in on Friday and get married on Monday and Jacqueline has already told my fiance via the phone that we will only have one meeting to get everything orgainzed. So I want to go in preparded with as many details as possible.

My fiance told me to relax and wait for her to write me. What do you guys think?

hola ladies......if you could see some wedding co-ordinators in action, I'm guessing it would help your confidence level a lot.

They have taken care of so many weddings, they have the routine down pretty well. I know your wedding is YOUR only wedding - so it's natural to be concerned about all your details being taken care of.

The wedding co-ordinators do a lot of weddings with various details all the time - it's their job, and they're very good at it.

I hope this helps you relax a bit and ........exhale :) You're in good hands, and will have a Wonderful Wedding!

Enjoy your journey and all the Good Times! cheers.gif

Hola amcoletta88 + welcome to the forum community :) Weather is always one of those unpredictables you have to deal with when making plans .....or living life, for that matter - haha

You can't let it stop you from planning your life - especially if you prepare a "plan B" in the event of unfavorable weather - like rain interrupting your wedding celebrations. Then just go forward and trust that it will all work out great - whatever the weather brings.

Wishing you a pleasant planning process and "happily ever after" journey throughout - Enjoy :)

I messaged the spa to confirm the appointments Victoria, our planner, had already made for us just in case and the lady from the spa is super quick to respond and great to work with! Which is great news for anyone having issues with response times! :)

I had previously read about people giving their hair or makeup to their mom or bridesmaid/maid of honour so I asked to give my mom my mani/pedi as my nails will all be done before I get there and they said there is no transferring services. I am not sure if this is new, but she said I can get a different service for myself instead such as a facial or body treatment...not sure if extra charges are involved though - will see when I get there in 40 days!

I just talked with my WC, Xhail, a couple weeks ago and she said hair/makeup and spa services were transferrable. I think it really depends on who you talk to. Maybe tell her that you have heard from other brides that they transferred spa services and they might be more willing to allow it. :)

haha, oh geez! So typical to get all these different answers from different people. Oh well, I think I am going to leave it, I won't complain about using all the services originally meant for me anyway :o)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
