Has anyone chose the Mint Breeze package? I originally thought I would for sure want the reception on the beach or at least an open air space, but when I found out the price difference and realized we would have 50+ people (the Strawberry package costs $66/pp after 15 people!) I had to look at other packages due to budget. I am thinking it might be nice to have air conditioning for dancing and such but still having a hard time deciding on this...

Any advice?

Hey past Barcelo brides I'm trying to decide where I should have my ceremony. We were not lucky enough to have a site visit and basically are planning everything based on pictures. I have chosen playa azul for the reception. At first I wanted to have it at 2 separate location (ceremony/reception) but now I'm unsure. I saw pics of the setup for a ceremony at playa azul and the landscape is gorgeous. Gazebo is definitely out as we want more of a beach setting. Just wanted some suggestions. please respond.

We will have less than 25 people likely, nothing big and not too many tables, and were hoping for a vase with flowers and water and crystals in the bottom or something along those lines. I know the planner sent me some options they have but they are not exactly cheap, I am just not sure if the price is worth it instead of the hassle of taking them down with us.

thanks!!

We just used the free centerpieces from the resort.  They put a tea light in the middle.  Plus we brought down other things to place on the tables: maracas, ribbon wands, matchstick mints, table numbers.  I think it looked nice!

We had our ceremony on Coral Beach at the Palace.  This was perfect because it is a beach location looking over coral so nobody walks behind your ceremony, there are palm trees for shade for your guests and because it was close to everybody's rooms they had some time to go back and change or to one of the bars/buffets after the 3pm ceremony while we took our pictures on the beach.ELI_5879.JPGELI_6030.JPG

Hi chrisdior.  Sorry for the delayed response!  No, we were not charged a fee for having a videographer.  The only fee we paid was for having an external photographer.

Someone else asked about a place for a reading.  We had my husband's aunt do a reading at our ceremony.  She came up to stand next to the table where we were standing and everyone could see her just fine.  The audio is really good at Barcelo and it is all very clear on our video.

Also, someone mentioned doing programs for the wedding.  We thought about it but decided against it.  For one thing, it is generally pretty windy on the beach so unless your ceremony is indoors, they will likely fly away.  Also, your guests will likely just throw them away.  If you want to spend the time, money and effort into creating them, you can but we chose to put our efforts into a welcome letter, map of the resort, activities schedule for those events we had planned and a general overview of the resort and things to do.  This we thought would be much more appreciated by our guests as it was something that would be helpful during their stay.  Just a thought.

Hello everyone!  I finally posted a review on my wedding at the Barcelo Maya Palace.  Our wedding was on June 22.  http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/products/barcelo-maya-palace-deluxe-all-inclusive/reviews  Everything was so wonderful and this site has been so helpful!  Feel free to let me know if you have any questions.  Also, I added pictures from the wedding and reception on my profile, so you can look at those to get some ideas of what things will look like!  Have fun planning!

If I attached the three page PDF of the bouquet options here, will you be able to view them or should I email them?  From my WC, "itâ€s not necessary that you choose the same bouquet, you can mix and match. The flowers that have an extra cost are: orchids, calla lilies, peonies (these are not regional flowers)"

I think only the coloured Calla Lillies and Orchids cost more.  I had white Calla Lillies in my bouquet, and I didn't even ask for them.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
