Congrats Sandra and Mario!!!

My wedding time and location is exactly the same as yours!! LOL What time did you start getting your hair/manicure/makeup done? Could you send me the info for the makeup artist and his rates if possible? One last thing... you mentioned that the Palmeras Grill was less than impressive, especially with the number of guests you had (we have the same), would you recommend any other locations?

Thank you for your help and congrats again!

My first appointment was my nails at 11am. I stuck around because my hair appointment was for 1pm and I didn't get my pedicure (I gave it away to my sis in law). I was back in my room around 2:15, Adrian (the makeup artist) had been waiting a few minutes (his appt was for 2pm). He likes to take his time, so I ended up being a bit behind schedule because my photographer and videographer were in my room at 3pm and he still hadn't finished up. Mind you, I still needed to get dressed, etc. If you're having a 4pm ceremony, I suggest scheduling all your appts like mine, but an hour back. It'll give you more time to make sure everything is exactly how you like it before you walk down the aisle. As far as reception locations are concerned, I absolutely love the outdoor setting. Whether it's poolside or on the beach, both are stunning. However, the weather needs to be nice obviously. If you choose an outdoor location and it rains, you'll end up in a banquet hall (with no windows). They will make it as nice as they possibly can, but it'll never look like outdoors. I don't believe you can have one of the grills as a backup because they need to know ahead of time. They operate them for dinner and would have to close up early in order to cater for your event. Hope this helps. Good luck with everything! February is a beautiful month in Mexico, so don't worry about the weather!

Does anyone know how the dinner and reception is setup? From some of the replies, it seems that the 3 hours allocated to the dinner and reception (Strawberry package) is together? So, does this mean that we only have 3 hours to eat AND dance? I was hoping to have dinner in 1.5-2 hrs and then have 3 hours to dance after. Would I then have to pay the additional per person/per hour extra cocktail beverage fees?

Hope this makes sense!

Photographer... Craig Wolfrom

He flew out to Denver to do our engagement pictures and he will be in Mexico with us April 16-18 for rehersal, wedding, and trash the dress

We have been very very happy so far.

If anyone has a wedding at the Barcelo that week or week after they may want to think about hiring him...

I can send you the links to our pics from the engagement session...not cookie cutter

And the price is good when you consider you get all 3 events instead of just one.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
