The thing is.... there is a 3 night minimum so I am not sure why she told me 2 nights?  I asked her but she hasnt got back to me....

I think during the low season, you can book 2 nights and during the high season the barcelo requires 3 nights... but I would check different travel websites.  Sometimes you can book 2 nights from another site.

As much as we really really wanted to have our reception outdoors we didn't want to spend the extra money on it only to have it canceled due to weather conditions.  If that were to happen you don't get the money back you spent to have the outdoor wedding. Send an email to your planner and ask her how much it would cost per person and she'll definitely let you know.

Congrats on your upcoming wedding and I hope the information above helped.

My wedding is on June 22nd!  I am excited.  My wp is Xhail.  I, too, have not heard from her (I think someone else has mentioned that on here.)  We are in phase 2 - picking the menu.  We have the Mint Breeze package and I am excited about the Gazebo wedding and the INSIDE reception.  We are coming from Texas so we have NO PROBLEMS being inside in the air as opposed to the blazing summer heat.  We will get enough sun on Wed, Thur, Fri, Sun and Monday before we leave! :-)

Does anyone know the flavors of cake to chose from?  That is the only thing holding me up and I have been waiting on the response for that for over a week now.

Hi Everyone, I got married 1/7/11 at the palace. Just wanted to give an update on our wedding video done by mediamorfosis. After 2 years+ 2 weeks we got out video as promised. We had to pester Christian for 2 years to receive it. The video is beautiful but I wanted have it in order to share our wedding day with people that couldn't attend the wedding. At this point ,2 years later, nobody really cares to see it. I mean, we've been married for 2 years! We love it and will cherish it forever but we would have been infinitely more happy with it had it not been such a nightmare trying to obtain it. I think Christian means well and is obviously very talented but his customer service leaves a lot to be desired.

You cannot upgrade from Barcelo packages to outdoor venues, as far as I've been told and heard from others. If you were having an Air Transat package that is different, it's not a Barcelo package so the rules aren't the same. As for outside photographers, the 2011 and 2012 packages explaining the wedding packages offered also stated no outside photographers and they allowed them for the fee/rooms booked.
That's so weird that there are different packages depending on what travel company you book with :/ I booked through a Calgary destination wedding specialist agent ( sunwing is the travel company ) the most expensive package was like $10,000.00!!! That's just crazy talk - lol

You can always use the Barcelo packages no matter who you book with, I am from Calgary as well, went Air Transat and didn't even bother looking at their packages because I wasn't interested in them at all, the Barcelo one had everything we wanted.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
