I had better luck contacting the coordinator myself than my travel agent did. Who is your coordinator? We actually ended up changing our wedding date after invites were sent out because we wanted to send them early enough to give lots of notice but flights hadn't been announced yet, so once they were announced we moved our wedding day back a day and sent everyone a message and updated our wedding site. It wasn't ideal or perfect but it was what we had to do!

That makes me feel better.  I don't have a Wedding Coordinator yet since no one has gotten back to me or my travel agent!  Our Sunwing flights from Vancouver haven't been announced yet either.  Just so frustrated.  Thought planning a destination wedding was gonna be so stress free and easy!  Ha!  Guess I'll just keep on waiting and then change the date and time, if necessary.  We have a wedding website as well that I can update too.  Thanks for letting me know what you guys had to do.  :)

I think I am going with the koozies for the gift idea, I was going to also do cute maracas but I figured they would just get trashed when it was over so why waste the money. Everyone needs koozies :) Yay so I will see you there since you're getting married on the 29th, maybe we will run into eachother :)

Yes my wedding will be the loud group for sure...we have over 65 guests booked and confirmed and the number seems to keep growing.

What locations are you using for your ceremony and reception ?

Does anyone know about "Captain Morgan Beach". This is the location that Claudia showed me pics of for my reception. From the pics, the area looks small inbetween the palm trees. We are anticipating 80-90 guests (62 have already booked), and I'm concerned about space. Any input would be appreciated

I also am looking for some input ladies.. please can anyone tell me what the difference or the preferred spot is between coco beach and coco pool? I have 38 booked, but still waiting for more responses. I am having a dj with a light up dance floor and projection screen. can anyone let me know which location would be better? or can you suggest a bigger location.

I have Playa Azul booked as of right now, but without the palapa I am having second thoughts. My WC has sent me some pictures and I am not happy with the way the set up looks.

Thanks!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
