AudEv2012, here is a link to the map that is listed on the Unofficial Barcelo site:  http://www.unofficia...s/file/map.pdf.

The Palmeras Grill is number 34 and the chapel is listed as 26.  They are a little bit of distance from one another, however, I would ask your WC about transfers for your guests from the chapel to the grill as I have read that these are available and can be arranged by your WC in advance.

    Good luck!

My FI and I are getting married at the Palace on April 12, 2012.  Our ceremony is at the chapel and we are now looking at the different reception sites.  We have 70 people signed up already, and we are expecting 80-90 people to attend.  Among those in attendance are a few elderly relatives as well as families with young kids.  I want a nice reception site, but I also want to make sure everyone can access it easily.

We are considering the Palmeras Grill for our reception site.  How far is it from the Palace itself?  I gather that it is not on the Palace but is located on one of the other Barcelo resorts.  Did anyone use the Grill as their site and find it too far for your guests to get back to their rooms?  Anyone have any particular recommendations?

Gabriela has been quite helpful so far, but it’s difficult for us to assess reception sites as neither my FI nor myself have been to the Barcelo resort.

Hope all is well!  Good luck to everyone whose date is fast approaching!

WOW, what a large group, good for you guys, how exciting!!  Just to clarify... are you staying at the Palace hotel, and having the ceremony @ the 'Chapel' ?  There is a white gazebo type area @ the palace you can have the ceremony at as well. Just asking because the 'chapel' isn't technically on the palace property...  The Chapel Is located twards the middle of the resort, near the shopping area. (opposite side to beach)... If you look at a map of the resort, there is a side walk that runs the entire length of the resort in between the beach and pool areas. That makes getting around much easier. The Palmeras grille is the poolside grille @ the tropical section, which is VERY close to the Palace.  It is situated right off the sidewalk and right inbetween the tropical and palace hotel buildings.  Super easy if you are all staying at the Palace! As far as the Chapel... I am thinking if your elderly guests are coming to the resort anyway they shouldn't have a problem walking from anywhere, as they will have to walk to get to and from places while they are vacationing... in my opinion its not that far going (walking) directly through the hotels, if they have a hard time getting around, talk to your WC and set up plans to have them brought by golf cart. ( they will do this for you from your room to ceremony site)  I am sure they will help you out, but that may be extra $ for extra golf cart transportation. Another thing.. there is a trolley that stops about every 10 min @ each lobby area, they shopping area , pier, etc, so thats another option, to get a little closer to certain things. I originally wanted our reception at the Coral Grille, located at the Palace, its the rounded restaurant looking twards the beach, super beautiful and the windows open so it can be open air or closed,  but they told me they only offered it to very large groups because they close it down for reserved parties and I was quoted a large price as well, check on that with your WC, ALSO with all the guests you have, you may have enough 'room nights' for an upgraded ceremony/reception, or even qualify for it free.  They changed the minimun numbers on this, so make sure to ask your WC.  Sorry I got a little lengthy.  Good luck with everything!

Sorry LynnP - forgot to answer your question . Yes, we are getting married at the Catholic Chapel near the shopping area.  Are you getting married at gazebo?

I am getting married at the Palace in June with about 30 guests.  At first I wanted a beach wedding, but after seeing pics of the gazebo, I think I'm in love with it!  My hard part is figuring out what to do for a reception there.  I don't want to put a ton of money into it because we are having a home reception.  Has anyone booked through Delta Vacations and received the complimentary wedding?  I am hoping I can add some things to that to make it work for me.  It includes a semi-private dinner at a specialty restaurant.  Can anyone recommend a restaurant? I really want something that has a nice view. I want a beautiful wedding/reception, but I don't want to go broke trying to achieve this!!!

Hi Ladies!  What menu is everyone choosing for their reception?  For those who have already had their wedding, what did you choose and what would you recommend?  My FI and I are stuck on this one...Any help is appreciated!  Oh!  And for those who have already been there and done that, do you have any pics you could post???  Thanks!

                  Hi Ladies

Anyone on here using the Transat Wedding away Euphoria package? I am looking into this one but what about the extra cost of things such as adding a private dinner with the open bar for 3 hours and the Minister to Marry us. Does anyone know the cost to add these. We are going to have 20 people so I think this package will work better cost wise. The other choice is Strawberry Dream. Your thoughts.

                    Hey there 419soon2bbride....

I was going to book with Delta, but ended up with FUnjet. I never really heard about the complimentary package through them... What is that about / how does that work? ?  I picked the Strawberry pkg through the resort. Did you pick a wedding package? As for your dinner reception, the French Restaurant @ the Palace is beautiful. Best wishes with the rest of the wedding!!!

Hi, this is what we picked :

Curried Marinated Chicken and Tomato Salad

Onion Soup with Gruyere Cheese Crostini

Surf and Turf with Baked Potato and Vegetable

                      White Chocolate & Rasberry Tiramisu

                      Wedding Cake

All the options sounded good so it was a hard decision to make! I don't think you can go wrong what ever you decide, all sound delicious!

Here are some pictures I've collected from somewhere in this thread :

                      LOBSTER BISQUE
