We just got back from our wedding at the Palace and we had our reception outside by the pools and it was great. The ocean was right behind us and they light up the pools and palm trees and it looked great. They also took away all the chairs and loungers so we didnt have to look at them. Its a good option if you dont want to pay for a dancefloor outside.

I will be posting a review with pics once I get them all organized...unpacking is a pain.

There was a very light breeze the whole night which was perfect, nothing was blowing around and it kept everyone cool. There was a little humidity during the day but by the evening it was fine. And honestly, I didnt see any bugs the whole time I was on the resort. The only time that I got some bites was when we went into the jungle to zipline and stuff. However, later in the week another wedding got rained on and had to be moved inside to the buffet, but honestly even the buffets at the Palace are gorgeous so I dont think they minded too much.

I will get on putting my review together, but I will say that you guys shouldnt worry because Barcelo Palace is absolutely beautiful. My parents are already calling their TA to go back next year and I was told by a relative who travels a lot that it was by far the best resort they have stayed at in their 20 years of travelling to Mexico. I dont find that hard to believe because it was amazing.

We are getting married at the Barcelo Maya "Colonial" this February, 2009!

I am glad to hear that I am not the only one having troubles getting a hold of the WC. I am getting a little impatient. Besides that I am happy to hear all the great wedding stories at the Barcleo!!

Hi Sunshinekc08, Thank you so much for offering this!! If you could take pictures of the locations to have the ceremony, and the reception areas around the palace that would be great!
Also, when you return if you could give us an update on the dolphin swim up plans, I'm really interested to see if this is going to go through or not. I actually really hope it doesn't, and I'm afraid they will be constructing the dolphin swim up attraction when I have my wedding, in 2010. If that's the case then I might have to look at other resorts, unless it won't be a distraction or inconvenience to us & our guests.
Either way, have so much fun and drink lots of tequila!! shots.gif :)
I'm very jealous! I wish I was going to Mexico too!!! :)
Take lots of pics for us if you can, and let us know what you think of the resort.

Thanks again SO MUCH!! cheesy.gif Have a great time.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
