You are so far ahead...great job!

Did you order centerpieces from Barcelo? If so would you send me pictures of what they sent you to choose from? I have no idea where to begin with that. My mom is very crafty and I would love for her to put things together but then I don't know how to get them there. Have any suggestion anyone??

How about flowers? Did you choose from their selection there?

Please help:) I am grateful for all you wonderful ladies!
I'm nervous that the exact opposite is going to happen! I feel like the holidays will make the end of this yr go fast and then once they're over time will drag on!

I'm making my own centerpieces. I have a photo earlier in this thread I think. I'm bringing them all down in suitcases. Claudia told me I could ship it directly to her and gave me the address, but I'm nervous that they won't get to customs. I may ship them, i don't know yet.

I'm using Shavon's Wedding Silks for my Real Touch flowers. I'm using the bride bouquet credit in my package for either my toss bouquet or toward my 2 tier cake. Not sure which yet.

Does anyone know if they served frozen drinks (margaritas, pina coladas, etc) during receptions in the open air restaurants or poolside?
They serve frozen drinks poolside and in the open air grills during the day every day, so I would imagine they do the same for the receptions since they are already set up for it.

Thanks for posting the pics of the grill area ladies!

I've already been exchanging emails with Gabriela, who has been nice. I've noticed the 2-3 day lag in response time, but was prepped for it thanks to everyone that's been in contact with the wedding coordinators in the past.

However, I have a couple of questions:

1. When do you decide, or find out, where your ceremony will be? My wedding is in March...so not sure if it's too early to decide.

2. Does anyone have any pics of the banquet rooms? We are going with Mint Breeze, but if we don't have huge numbers, we may just splurge on the Strawberry package. (Though I have heard that March evenings are pretty windy and cool so the banquet room may be a good option).

3. Does anyone have pics of the regular centerpieces? I think I saw a couple of pictures on the thread, but wasn't sure it it was an actual pic of the centerpiece the resort uses.

4. Can people that have been at the resort share their opinion on all the specialty restaurants? (We are going to make a group reservation for one of the specialty restaurants for our welcome/rehersal dinner).

THANKS!!! I always get so much information from this thread!!!

Hi Yesther,
The only question I can answer is about the restaurants.....if you go to Reviews of Hotels, Flights, Vacations, Resorts, and Vacation Rentals - TripAdvisor you will find lots of reviews on the resort. People always talk about the food and which restaurant they like best. Hope this helps.

I was told they will not do that...but that seems quite strange to me
Just got back from a friends wedding at the RIU and the WC made group reservations for 50 people all week.....
I haven't even tried yet to do this since we don't even know how many people are coming to the wedding. We have 29 booked but there may be some stragglers at the end who want to book last minute. I think this could probably wait closer to your wedding date. I don't see why they can't accommodate us.....we're paying to be there and eat.

Laura4ever and Sabrina,

I am actually fighting this battle currently. They are telling me that I can not make reservations at any a la cartes for over I think it is 30 or 35 people (I will have to review my emails and verify that for you). We have 62 people booked and that really make me angry that we are bringing that much revenue in and they can't bend the norm!! I only wanted to do this for the "Welcome Party/Rehersal Dinner" not even for the whole week. The WC suggested a cocktail hour and then set me the menu and prices, which were $14-20 per person for food and then another $10-13 per person per hour for the bar. Needless to say my FI hit the fan!! We chose the Palace verses the other properties so that our guests could enjoy the a la cartes on ALL DAYS of their stay. With the other properties you only get some many reservations for a la cartes depending on your length of stay (ie. 4 nights stay 1 a la carte). This has us furious right now, we are already paying at min. $8500 for the wedding not to mention upgrades and things.
PLEASE let me know if you hear anything different from your coordinators!! I would love to get more info regarding this.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
