It'll give all you lovely ladies an idea of Barcelo...their wedding was stunning...lovedddddddd Erica's dress and the reception in the French restaurant was soooo pretty! (in case you read this Erica, everything was beautiful and Elizabeth went above and beyond, as she always does!)...congrats to you and Doug again!

I know we all want an outdoor reception...but the French restaurant looks so elegant! For the ladies who are getting married in the summer months...you'll be in air conditioning if unexpected circumstances come up and you're put indoors (on the bright side!)...and just like Erica had said in an earlier post, don't stress...it all comes together in the end! I mean, c'mon, look at those pics!
Thank you so much Sandra!!! The French Restaurant was out of control gorgeous... I am not sure if they do weddings in there regularly, but Gabriela made an exception for us since they overbooked our original location of the poolside. What had happened was that they were also having a 300 person doctors convention on the beach... the same time and day of my reception.... so needless to say, since I booked this wedding a year and half in advance... I was pissed!... Way pissed... Monday the 13th of July was NOT a good day... Gabriela, got really nervous and made the French Restaurant available for the reception.... otherwise she would have been dealing with 2 crazy people... me and my mom.... BUT on a good note... everything worked out for the best.... as you can see in the pictures!!! Elizabeth Medina did such an incredible job... I can not even believe that these pictures are mine... I keep on staring at them in awe! I mean you have this image of what your wedding is going to look like.. and these pictures blew it totally out of the water!

My dress was probably my favorite part! It was a Pnina Tornai from Kleinfelds in Manhattan... I just wish I could wear it again!

If you have any questions... Just ask :)

"Dont Stress", it is such wasted energy... I stressed for months... for nothing! Everything was BEYOND PERFECT!!!!

Pebbles... Those pictures you are referring to are from my Rehearsal Party on the beach the night before the wedding... We had "White Party", where everyone had to wear white... it was on the beach.. We had the buffet of "Tacos and Tequila"... it was honestly the most "classy" buffet I have ever seen!!! Just look at the pictures...

We hired the Marriacchi band for 2 hours... So much fun!! We also had our own private bar, and lounge set up on the beach!!! I loved every second of it!! I knew at that point that my wedding was going to be in the French Restaurant.. So I wanted to have the rehearsal dinner to be totally different. It was very casual... I dont even think I wore shoes! So the pictures in the slide show... the very first ones of Doug and I in the "garden" that was taken before we got to the beach... We had Elizabeth for 3 days... Rehearsal Dinner, the actual wedding day and then towards the end of the slide show you will see our "Trash the Dress" session, which if you can... I would do!!! So worth the extra money!

Erica your pics are gorgeous! You're wedding was so beautiful...congrats! I love your bags for your moms and bridesmaids. Do you mind telling me where you found them? Super cute idea for the moms too!

Was your cocktail hour on the rooftop?

For the rehearsal dinner, did you set them up in advance with Gabriela? Do you mind telling me how much per person for the taco bar set up? Such a great idea!

Erica,
I booked Elizabeth Medina, too! Your pictures are AMAZING! Congrats! It looks like you all had a great time, and I'm glad the Barcelo was so accommodating... I wish I could use the French restaurant, too. It looks gorgeous... I guess they offered it b/c nothing else was available for you? Did you bring your own centerpieces?
You are going to LOVE her!!!! Just wait till you see your photographs... your going to melt!!! You just have to wait a long time for them... about 6 weeks, but SO worth it!!!

My Centerpieces, I actually found off of Elizabeth Medina's Blog months back from another bride... I did not bring them... I emailed the EM picture to Gabriela, and she, like the US, deals with vendors outside of the resort and they can pretty much do anything for you!!! I told her I didnt want flowers... Just very chic sticks, with tons of hanging candles.. and I believe each centerpiece cost $45 USD, which if you are from the Tri-State area... that is so not expensive!!! Also, my cake, which not that large and my bouquet... all Hot Pink tight roses, all from Pictures I got off of Elizabeth's webpage months back... sent them all the pictures and Gabriela had everything made for me... Make sure to send her tons of pictures, otherwise you dont know if "your vision.. is also their vision", you know what I mean?

Thank you so much!!! I had the Ocean Scents Package, I am not sure if they do weddings in there regularly, but Gabriela made an exception for us since they overbooked our original location of the poolside. Thanks!!

I am absolutely in love with your photos!!!
Thank you!!! I love them too :) :) :)

For my cocktail hour I had a mixture of all 3! I didnt know you could do that... but when I sat down with Gabriela and was finalizing everything, I was not crazy about any of the menus from start to finish.... So or arguments sake, you are allowed to have 8 appetizers.... I I chose 3 from one, 4 from another and 1 from another... You know what I mean... So there was a very nice mixture... and I am not sure if the pictures showcase the food, but they went ABOVE AND BEYOND!!! The presentation was Gorgeous!!! I am VERY picky when it comes to the way things look... and I was truly IMPRESSED!!! The food (which I am also a VERY picky eater) :) Was delicious... Nothing like any of the food in the buffets, which I wasnt too crazy about myself... What I didnt know until I got there was that they have completely different chefs for "weddings" then they do for the rest of the resort! So chic, so classy, so good :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
