Joie, the fee for an outside photographer is $300, which I believe actually goes to the photographer on site (not to Barcelo) since were aren't using their services. Might have to be paid in cash too (not sure). You can also have your photographer stay over night as a guest and then they do not have to pay the fee. Not sure if it would be cheaper to pay for a night for them or the $300.

As for reception locations, from talking to my WC (gabriela), I understood the the Sea Breeze package is only in the banquet room, no other options. If you want a reception

on the beach, by the pool, or in an open air grill, you must pay for the Under the Stars or higher package.

I originally really wanted the Under the Stars, but you need to pay $6o per person instead of $20 for the Sea Breeze. We are probably going to have 50-60 people that could turn into an extra $2000 or more. So, for now I have the sea breeze package reserved. I might change it when I see the new 2010 prices. But, I'm guessing they will be even more expensive. Hope this helps!

Joie and Amy...all the above is absolutely correct!!! It boils down to cost and location. If you're willing to pay $60 per person past 10 or 15 guests I believe it is, then you'll have the option of being outdoors...else, to keep cost down, you'll be in a banquet room. Really depends on how many guests you're expecting and of course what's important to you! We're only planning on having 30 guests, so we don't mind paying an extra $1,000 and have our reception be outdoors. I'm also pretty sure that when you make that decision, even if it rains or it's uncomfortable for guests to be outdoors, they will move the party inside but the cost of $60 will remain the same. Also, the $300 for the outside photographer is correct. We're having ours spend the night, so that fee will be waived. I pretty much just repeated what Harv0136 said, LOL. I'm sorry...what is your name? I think I remember asking you at one point, but I forget sad.gif

Does anyone have any pictures of the banquet room set up for the Sea Breeze package? Also, I have heard conflicting comments... some say there are windows, some say there aren't..... We are going to be too many people to have it outside and I also hear in Feb. it's quite cool at night so we'll be going with the banquet room. I just wish I could see some pictures...

thank you everyone for all of your help!! We are not expecting too many people (20-30) for our wedding, but I love the idea of an outdoor reception.

As for the weather, I have been to Mexico in February (Cancun area) and it did cool off at night, but if you keep moving/dancing/drinking, it is tolerable.

thanks Sandra and Harv, you've both been so helpful! That STINKS if weather is bad, we still have to pay the 60/person! ugh sad.gif and very good to know about the photographer...that'll be my next big decision! Does any have the WC Xhail, thats who i got assigned and have never heard of her, so just curious. yay, can't wait to hear how all our 'big' decisions work out!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
