No, lets say the strawberry package is 3700, they deduct 300$ from that, you pay the 300$ directly in cash to the officiant

We are getting married in 48 days, exciting but I am second guessing having picked the Strawberry package!... I can not believe that it is $70 extra for one person. Did anybody pick the Mint package? I mean the only difference would be that the reception wouldnt be on the beach. .... I just dont know, after all why would I get married in Mexico only to have the reception inside. What would happen if it were to rain though, wouldnt they just move you inside anyways??

Any advice on this one??

They would put you next to the beach under an open air grill :) which is gorgeous.

I went and looked at the reception halls when we were there. It looked like a lecture hall that I went to university in, im glad I didn't choose it. Then again, im sure it would look nice if it were decorated.

We had our wedding in the open air grill (mariachi grill) it was GORGEOUS.

Has anybody asked guests not to post pictures from the wedding onto social media sites such as Facebook? Since my fiancé and I  will be gone for almost two weeks I don't want to come back to a bunch of photos online. I would like to be the one to initiate the photos once I return home... Any thoughts?

I would say you could ask them all not to post pictures, at least photos from your wedding, until you get back and can see/approve them. OR there is a settings feature in Facebook where you have to approve any photos that are tagged of you. However, that means they can still post photos from your wedding, just not tag you. I think you're only option is maybe word of mouth to your guest and put a line on your program or something stating your wishes. You would hope you friends and family would comply! :)

I have been thinking about this too and there was a thread going a few months ago too!

It bothered me then and we had planned to have our MC announce we'd like the be the first to post pictures but over time I've become less worried by it. I think just knowing it will probably happen anyways :/ but voicing it / word of mouth is your best bet. Even add it to your welcome letter or what not.

I just recently found out that 2 of our friends (our hairdressers) may be staying at a different resort than ours and will do the day pass for the wedding day. Does this count as outside vendor as they are guests of the wedding?

Also, anyone who has already gotten married there - does your coordinator come to your room often the day of the wedding? Or mainly just to get you once you are ready?

They should be guests! A lot of people use friends or do their hair/makeup themselves and it's my understanding this is ok.

I would just confirm what your day pass parameters are -- our contract states they can only come on site 1 hour before the ceremony. So that'd be worth knowing if she's doing everyone's hair.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
