Only 74 more days until I am on the beach getting married. I leave in about 70 days. I'm getting so excited, I did run into a bump as far as my wedding dress, I had my alterations appointment, and realized I couldn't stand my dress...so the hunt is on :) hopefully I can find something quick!

I have also come to the terms that I am going to want a photographer, at first I couldn't really comprehend spending so much money especially to get them inside the resort, but in the end I think I am going to start the hunt for photography! Any ideas?..prices? Thanks!

Also, as far as welcome bags, anybody have a good idea as far as what works well?  And decorations ...I really want sparklers guess I will just have to find some when I get down there...maybe a Wal-mart run..that's if they sell them :)

1 day til we leave!!!! Getting married Oct 29 at Barceló Tropical!!!!

I will make sure I post a detailed review!  Our wedding coordinator is now Marlene as Claudia has left Barceló. I haven't had much communication with her since our travel agent is the middle woman in wedding planning for us :)

I am a Barceló Maya Palace bride!  April 2015!

We are on Step 1 of the planning process right now.  It's hard trying to pick a ceremony location without ever having been there!  Does anyone have any recommendations?  We really want a ceremony on the beach, and have narrowed down our choices to Playa Coral and Playa Azul.  We really like the look of Playa Azul (just sand and ocean), but are worried that there will be hundreds of people standing around watching our wedding (and swimming in the ocean behind us, therefore getting into our photos!).  I've seen some horrendous photos of beach ceremonies with men in speedos in the background!  Also, by then, the Beach/Caribe hotels will have just recently been renovated, therefore, I anticipate that that side of the resort will be busier than it has been in the past....

Any advice from past brides (or future brides who have done site visits) would be awesome!

@@starbx123 My wedding ceremony and reception are confirmed for the playa azul location on 5/15/15. I even changed my wedding date (only by a day), JUST to have this location. From what I have read on here, most people say it is the most private place for you to have your ceremony and reception…except for of course a banquet hall. If you want something more private, I would definitely go with playa azul! Who is your wedding coordinator?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
