Hi all, my WC just advised me that they recently changed their policy and no longer require external vendors (photographers) to be the guests of the hotel), that you just have to pay $500! So now there's no other option but to pay this ridiculous non sense fee

After reading this I immediately called my TA since I already paid a photographer from out of the country and his room/flight. This is not true she said as long as they stay at the Barcelo for 2 nights the 500 fee is not necessary however if you get a videographer from Mexico you have to pay that. Hope this eases your mind. I spoke with Claudia she is the wedding manager so she would know

Can anyone tell me if you have to pay the $500 vendor fee for an outside DJ? My reception will be in a banquet hall.

I have signed a contract with Jaime Glez, a Mexican photographer. She didn't say anything about a vendor being local or not. I'm confused. My WC is Aurea

Congrats for your up coming wedding!

Yes they have an $95 usd per hour fee for using their electricity, but you can rent a power generator & avoid that fee, This policy is for weddings during this year only for weddings on 2014 you must to pay the fee with no other option.

Has anyone here rented a private catamaran for their wedding guests to go on?  We're looking for a catamaran for approximately 70 guests to go on the day before our wedding.  Some type of booze cruise/catamaran.  

We are going to do that as well. I was there this past weekend and got pricing from Lomas Travel and depending what you want it ranges 65-97 per person.

Even more crazy is that if you use their people for video and buy it and don't use them for photos, you still have to pay 500.

Past Brides, I booked a TTD session for the day after my wedding (getting married on a Friday). I also would like to book a group excursion with my guests sometime during the trip. However, most guests will be arriving on Thursday and leaving Sunday. I'm wondering if I should reschedule the TTD session for Sunday instead and do the excursion on Saturday. My question is would I ONLY have to pay for a guest pass if I have the photographer come back on Sunday or do I have to pay the vendor fee and guest pass? Thanks!

We chose the keyboard and bass I think it was, there was an issue the day of so we had the keyboard and violinist and as much as I didn't notice much on the day of the wedding when I watched our video it sounded beautiful!

Hello Brides,  My wedding coordinator Xhail is asking me if I have a seating plan..  Do we need to bring a master seating plan or do they do that? I am just wondering because she is asking for all the names. 

I told them I didn't have one but that I wanted round tables with approximately 4-6 at each table. They were ok with me having no plan, I think they ask in case people have one.
