Hello fellow brides! Just booked my special day for January 31 2014! We are staying at the Barcelo Tropical and have decided to have our ceremony at the Palmeras beach. Any of you have or will have your weddings there? Any pictures or info is greatly appreciated!!!

Hi there! Our wedding is Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014 so we will be there at the same time! We are staying at the Palace and having our wedding at coral beach. How many guests are you expecting? Where are you having your ceremony? Hopefully we will run into each other! Congrats to you!

your wedding was gorgeous!  thank you for sharing your video.

Love the maracas.  Did you get them in Mexico or bring them?

What about welcome bags?  Did you give your guests welcome bags and if so what did you put in them?

Sorry for the barrage of questions!

Any advice would be much appreciated.

They will let you have ONE group dinner booked through the travel agent that does not cost anything. We made sure to tip the waitstaff, but we had a set menu at the Caribbean restaurant for 26 people that did not cost us anything more than that. We didn't do a welcome dinner, we just went to one of the buffets early and had a group of a few tables (they are really close to eachother). We used our one group dinner reservation for a rehearsal dinner instead!

Thanks!

On the back of the keycard holders I made, I wrote everyone's room number, which was super helpful!! We just called eachother and planned to meet at a particular time, left a message if they didn't pick up. I've heard of people using walkie-talkies, which would have been a great idea! It definitely was challenging, because the resort is really big, but we definitely developed a bit of a routine and the 'usual' places that we would hang out.

I thought it would be great to give my guests personalized tumblers....who did this and did the Barcelo Maya Palace Deluxe give your guests problems about filling the cups at the bar?

Had no problems getting the cups filled :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
